⛔️CONSEQUENCES OF SINUSTIS - DID YOU KNOW?
👉 Sore throat
Purulent fluid containing bacteria and viruses running down the throat will cause throat infections and pharyngitis. Nasal discharge continuously flows down the throat with sore throat, causing the patient to have a prolonged cough that does not go away for a long time.
👉 Consequences of sinusitis

👉 Ear infections
Because the sinuses are connected to the ears, when the sinuses are infected, pus will spread to the ears. People with sinusitis often have complications of ear infections, especially children (because the eustachian tube in children is short and horizontal, so pus can easily flow in). Otitis media often causes fever, ear swelling, and even perforation of the eardrum, causing deafness if not treated properly.
👉 Bronchitis
Maxillary sinusitis and ethmoid sinusitis often cause bronchitis complications. The patient does not have a stuffy nose, no headache, but coughs a lot, spits up sputum, sometimes even blood, and has a slight fever in the afternoon.
👉 Asthma
Sinusitis easily causes negative effects for people with asthma. Sinusitis makes it difficult for the patient to breathe.
👉 Eye damage
Eye damage is one of the consequences of sinusitis. Purulent fluid in the sinuses affects the eye sockets, causing orbital inflammation, eyelid abscesses, lacrimal sac inflammation, optic neuritis... Complications in the eyes are easy to occur because the front of the orbit is the maxillary sinus, Inside is the ethmoid and sphenoid sinus, and above is the frontal sinus.

👉 Meningitis
If sinusitis is not treated, it will cause widespread inflammation of the brain base and surrounding tissues. Bacterial attacks on meningitis cause damage, even death. Signs of meningitis are headache, fever, nausea, neck tension, stiffness.
👉 Brain abscess
Inflammation that damages the meninges can affect the cerebral cortex, especially the brain and frontal lobe abscesses. Brain abscess, frontal lobe is very dangerous.
👉 Bone Complications
Bacteria caused by sinusitis can spread through the bloodstream, affecting the frontal, skull, and temporal bones. Inflammation causes pain, abscess formation. Under the inflamed bone, pus can be seen in the bone, under the hard meninges. Infected bones are difficult to treat. The usual treatment is long-term intravenous injection
