◇ 자주 묻는 질문(FAQ)
Q. 영어를 못하는데 들어가도 괜찮나요?
A. 부장교정, 룸조판, 편집장교정을 거치기 때문에 영어 말하기나 단순영어 작문 기교가 떨어져도 문제 없습니다. 분석력과 사회현안 및 부서와 유관한 자료에 대한 흥미, 전문적인 자세, 그리고 성실성이 더 중요합니다. 학교 내외에서 일어나는 사건들, 서강대학교와 학생활동에 대한 관심과 열정만 있다면 영작문을 교육시켜드립니다. 입사를 위해 치르게 되는 필기 시험에서도 영어 구사 실력은 절대적인 평가 기준이 되지 않습니다. 이 점 꼭 양지해주시길 바랍니다.

Q. 부서는 어떻게 정해지나요?
A. 한 학기 동안의 수습기간을 거치고 2학기 때 정기자로 승진하면서 부서를 정하게 됩니다. 서강 헤럴드는 정기자 부서 배정 시 해당 기자가 입사 시 표기한 지망 부서를 최대한 고려한다는 점 알려드립니다.

Q. 정기회의시간, 회의장소는 어떻게 되나요?
A. 회의시간: 시험기간과 시험기간 직전 2주를 제외한 매주 평일 월, 금 18시 10분입니다.
회의장소: 현재 코로나19가 맹위를 떨치고 있는 시기인만큼, 기자들의 안전을 생각하여 비대면 활동을 원칙으로 하고 있습니다. 정해진 장소는 따로 없습니다. 평시에는 우정관 지하1층의 헤럴드 편집실에서 진행합니다.

Q. 서강 헤럴드에서 퇴임 전까지 총 몇 번의 잡지를 제작하게 되나요?(의무활동기간)
A. 서강 헤럴드에서 한 명의 기자는 활동 기간 중 총 8개의 정규잡지를 제작하게됩니다. 서강 헤럴드는 계간지로 1년에 총 4개의 잡지를 제작합니다. 따라서 기자가 중간에 군입대 등으로 활동을 중지하지 않는다면 통상 2년(4학기)의 활동을 끝으로 퇴임하게 됩니다.

◇ 수습기자 지원 방법 안내**
1) 지원서 접수
: 3월 1일(월)~3월 15일(일) 오후 11시
*(지원 제한 학번 없음. 새내기, 정든내기 모두 가능합니다.)

2) 필기시험
: 3월 17일 정오~23시 59분(총 12시간); 필기시험은 전면 온라인으로 진행됩니다. 시험 시작 시간이 되면 이메일로 필기 시험지 파일을 전송해 드리며, 지원자는 자신의 답안으로 파일을 채워 서강헤럴드 대표 메일로 정해진 시간까지 전송해주시면 됩니다.

3) 면접
: 3월 22일~3월 24일

행아웃, 줌 등 화상회의 플랫폼을 이용하여 정해진 시간에 진행됩니다.

안녕하세요 언론사협의체 공동취재팀 황동준 팀장입니다!

저희 공동취재팀이 시사IN 대학기자상에서 특별상을 수상하게 되었습니다! 특별상은 '대학 언론 발전에 크게 기여한 매체 또는 인물'에 수여되는 상으로, 공동취재팀의 '위기의 서강' 기사가 수상하게 되었습니다. 특별상 상금 100만 원은 학교 발전기금으로 기부할 예정입니다!

언론사협의체는 작년 10월 이주연 이사 해임 이후 수면 위로 떠오른 이사회 사태를 취재하기 위해 공동취재팀을 구성하였습니다. 공동취재팀은 취재 과정에서 비정상적으로 운영되는 학교의 실태를 확인하였으며, 이를 4편의 기사에 담았습니다. 해당 기사의 주제는 다음과 같습니다.

According to the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, people have the basic rights to pursue happiness. Violation of basic rights must be met with proper compensation, and the violator ought to be punished based on the scales of emotional and physical injury of the victim. However, the reality is sometimes different from exception, as shown in the Cho Doo-Soon case. The Sogang Herald thoroughly delves into the Cho Doo-Soon case, including the problematic aspects of the Korean law related to this issue.

Ssodam and Everytime. These are community websites essential to the Sogangers. However, there are definitely problems that arise when using these community sites. Considering the recent disclosure of personal information and occasional disparaging remarks, the Sogangers are not completely safe in this matter. The Sogang Herald listen to the Soganger's opinions on the use of the community website identify the problems, and explore the ways to develop an ideal community website.

US begins anew with Joe Biden. In Cover Story3, The Sogang Herald briefly introduces Obama's achievements that have been threatened by Trump. Regarding the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be a closer examination on the public health policy of the US, ACA or also called Obamacare, and the policy plans of Biden on tracking the COVID-19.

On December 18, 2020, "The Divided States of America", the 261th edition of The Sogang Herald, was issued online.

The 2020 US presidential election has signaled the end of Trump’s regime, but his legacy of Trumpism still remains as an obstacle to overcome. The Cover dissects the US presidential election, from an introduction of the US electoral system to an analysis of its procedure and results.

Campus Analysis focuses on the recent outrage of Sogangers against the Jesuit Board of Directors on their misconduct against Board Director Lee Ju-yeon. Concerned voices have also pointed out that the most likely candidate for the next president, Father Shim Jong-hyuk, had been predetermined prior to the election itself. 위기의 서강 4편: 기울어진 이사회

앞으로 4년간 본교를 이끌 서강대학교 제16대 총장 선출이 코앞으로 다가왔습니다. 이사회는 오는 9일 총장후보자추천위원회에서 추천한 후보들 가운데 차기 총장을 직접 선출할 예정입니다. 하지만 총장 선출을 앞두고 이사회 임원이 해임되거나 ‘총장내정설’이 불거지는 등 잡음이 잇따르고 있습니다. 이에 언론사 협의체 공동취재팀은 이사회 내 기울어진 권력 분포를 조사하는 한편, 총장내정설이 등장하게 된 배경을 살펴봤습니다.
