Due to a number of issues, teeth can become seriously discolored and damaged when there is trouble with the root system. In these cases, a root canal is needed to remove the remaining nerve. For some cases, if there is serious damage or cracking, a replacement is needed to provide the best results. In this case, Dr. Kim will use a drill to shave the original tooth down and then provide a cap, which will cover your remaining portion. This replacement will serve as a new tooth and have all the functions of your old teeth. If the tooth is too damaged, a whole new tooth may be needed in the form of an implant.
