I share with you the latest recommendations of the American Society of Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and the International Federation of the Surgery of Obesity & Metabolic Disorders (IFSO) which was released on 21 October 2022.

Our paper in post graduate medical education in Kuwait has been published and it’s the first to address this important issue.

I’m grateful and proud of my co-authors Dr. Rawan Al Yousef and Farah Alhouti for their great work!

‏‎أحيانًا كثيرة نسمع عبارات تكون مزعجة لنا (قد تكون بقصد المدح أو عفوية، أو قد تكون نمطية لا شعورية، وأحيانًا تكون مقصوده للتهميش او التقليل من رأيكِ او قيمتك وغيرها) في جميع الأحوال، هذه العبارات تبين وتعكس ما يفكر فيه الشخص الآخر.

‏‎في يوم المرأة العالمي حبيت أشارك مجموعة من النساء المتميزات أحد العبارات التي اسمعها واعرف ان العديد من النساء في مجالات كثيرة سمعوها و أُبين إنَ مثل هذه التعليقات لا تقلل ولا تغير من واقع إنك متميزة ومتمكنة ومبدعة في عملك/مجالك.

We were interested to know what barriers deter medical students and interns in Kuwait from choosing surgery as a career and to explore the solutions.
