After an abortion, there are concrete things you can do that will help you accept the decision you made. The following suggestions can help you accept and know what to do with your feelings, make the sadness go away, and help you give “closure” to your abortion experience.
Allowing yourself to express your sadness and pain will help them decrease. You won't always feel this way.
Don't be hard on yourself. Talk to yourself positively.
You're a good person. You are a person with principles.
Remind yourself that you are brave. You made a difficult decision.
Remember why you decided to abort. Remember that you made the best decision under those circumstances.
Ask yourself the following question: if one day you hope to plan a pregnancy, what difference would it make with the situation you just experienced?
