Communication is more than words ✨

At Speech Studio, we believe speech therapy should be fun, engaging, and meaningful!

In sessions, we use play-based activities like; songs, movement, and toys to help kids:
👉 Build vocabulary
👉 Improve sentence structure
👉 Strengthen social communication
👉 Gain confidence in expressing themselves

Speech therapy isn’t about drills and worksheets it’s about creating real connections through everyday play.

In this moment, we’re practicing language skills with signs and gestures paired with movement and interaction because children learn best when they’re having fun!

Top 3 strategies to boost communication for children with Autism 👇

Here’s 3 evidence-based strategies to start building communication at home:

- Use visuals consistently (pictures, signs, schedules etc.) These create routines that help make communication more predictable

- Follow your child’s lead in play. Join in their interests to build connection

- Pause intentionally to give space to respond. Give additional time for your child to respond

These strategies work well for all children but especially with our little ones with ASD.

Meet Ms. Jessie ✨

Our newest Paedatric Speech and Language Therapist from London who has 12 years experience working with children and adults aged 0-18 in many different settings such as early years services, multidisciplinary teams for complex cases, mainstream and special schools and youth offending services.

However, she specializes in working with autistic children or children on the autism spectrum.

Jessie is passionate about working with families to support communication develop and help children meet their potential

Jessie relocated to Grand Cayman in February of 2024 and began working with the Speech Studio, part time, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturday mornings ❤️

Since being on island she’s enjoyed getting involved in the community by attending baby/toddler classes with her little one and meeting lots of other moms.

She also loves playing volleyball and swimming in her spare time 🏊‍♀️
