🌟 Proud to Support Our Champions! 🌟

This weekend some of our physiotherapy team had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at the Special Olympics Healthy Athlete Event! 💪✨

We were honored to provide physiotherapy assessments, mobility checks, and wellness advice to these amazing athletes — each one showing inspiring dedication, strength, and positivity. ❤️

Events like this remind us why we love what we do: helping every athlete move better, feel stronger, and reach their full potential. 🏃‍♀️🏅

A huge thank you to the Special Olympics team for organizing such a meaningful event and to all the volunteers who made it possible. 🙌

Our Respiratory Therapy team just got even stronger!

We’re now offering a 7-day on-call rota so you can truly breathe a little easier.

And we’re thrilled to welcome Nikita Mantri to the team! With a Master’s in Cardio-Respiratory Physiotherapy, she brings not just expertise, but a real passion for helping people live and breathe better.

Here’s her bio, so you can see why we’re so excited to have her on board…

“Nikita is a physiotherapist with a focused expertise in cardiovascular and respiratory physiotherapy. Her clinical experience spans hospital, intensive care, and outpatient settings, both locally and internationally, where she has played a vital role in managing complex cardio-respiratory conditions and promoting pulmonary and cardiac recovery.
Her core competencies include cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, post-operative respiratory care, weaning support in ICU, and exercise prescription for cardiac and pulmonary conditions. She is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care, aiming to restore optimal respiratory function, improve cardiac endurance, and enhance quality of life.

In her previous role as Senior Cardiac Physiotherapist and Head of Department at Ram Mangal Heart Foundation Hospital in India, Nikita was instrumental in designing and implementing structured cardiac rehabilitation programs for both inpatient and outpatient populations. She also contributed to community health initiatives focused on heart and lung health education, early intervention, and long-term management.

In addition to her cardio-respiratory specialization, she brings experience in post-surgical physiotherapy, sports injury care, and elderly rehabilitation, often integrating advanced techniques such as kinesiotaping, manual therapy, and electrotherapy to support holistic recovery.

Nikita earned her Master’s in Physiotherapy (Cardiovascular and Respiratory Physiotherapy) from Sancheti Institute & College of Physiotherapy (Pune), graduating first in her university under MUHS. She also holds a Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy from M.A. Rangoonwala College of Physiotherapy, Pune.

Besides being a physiotherapist, Nikita has keen interest in learning different dance forms.”

“Our adult son has spastic cerebral palsy and for many of his younger years, had a great therapist. However, since she retired years ago, it’s been extremely challenging finding someone who has neurological training to match their physical therapy training. Our son requires this “marriage of training” (neuro + physical) therapy all his life.

Thankfully, PhysioWorx have the trained staff and although many years of therapy have lapsed, we’re back on track at last!

We are extremely grateful for his doctors and the insurance company coverage for recognizing his needs.

The difference between 4 months ago when Jen and her amazing team began working with our son to now is amazing! Contractures are beginning to loosen and we hope, because of therapeutic intervention, surgery can be avoided as he gets older.“

Congratulations to Shante Bush, our second Caymanian student who started with internships during school years and is now on her way to being a Qualified Physiotherapist! Shante is studying Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Florida International University. She’s been an integral part of the Physio Worx Team since 2024, we’re looking forward to having her back on school breaks and *hopefully* her first qualified role with us as a Junior Therapist! Keep up the great work Shante! You Got This!!

💡 Neurorehab isn’t just life-changing — it’s cost-saving.
A new report finds it can save the NHS up to £680K per patient.
Investing in rehab means better recovery, less pressure on services, and huge long-term savings.
It’s time to fund it properly.

No Ice In Sight! Forget RICE — it's time for PEACE & LOVE in injury management.
As clinicians, we’ve moved beyond outdated injury protocols. The PEACE & LOVE approach offers a modern, evidence-informed framework for managing acute soft tissue injuries, combining short-term protection with long-term empowerment.
🔹 PEACE – Immediate care post-injury:
P – Protect: Minimize movement that increases pain for the first 1–3 days.
E – Elevate: Raise the limb to reduce swelling.
A – Avoid anti-inflammatories: They may impair tissue healing.
C – Compress: Apply external pressure to reduce swelling.
E – Educate: Support self-management and set realistic expectations.
🔹 LOVE – After the acute phase:
L – Load: Gradually reintroduce activity to promote tissue resilience.
O – Optimism: Psychological factors impact recovery — foster a positive mindset.
V – Vascularisation: Encourage pain-free activity to enhance blood flow.
E – Exercise: Tailor rehab to restore mobility, strength, and function.
💡 This protocol shifts the focus from passive treatment to active recovery. It emphasizes patient education, graded exposure, and the biopsychosocial model — key elements in modern rehabilitation.
Whether you're a physiotherapist, physician, coach, or patient, embracing PEACE & LOVE leads to better outcomes and empowered recoveries.

🌟 Spotlight on Neuro Rehab 🌟

Meet Neville Norman:

“I could barely walk a few steps around my home—I’d get out of breath just making it to the bathroom, even with a frame and someone to help. Now, I’m walking to the end of my street with just a cane. It’s been years since I’ve felt the Christmas breeze on my face, and it feels amazing!”

Your determination inspires us all, Neville. Keep up the incredible progress—you’re doing amazing! 👏
