Flap surgery involves transporting healthy, live skin from one location of the body to another, often to areas that have had a skin cancer removed. I used the “H “ Plasty Technique for closing this large round site where I removed a skin cancer from a patient's scalp. The “H” Plasty converts a round hole into a rectangular or square (straight sided) area, such that the straight edges of the longer sides can be brought together and sutured.

"Buccal Fat Removal" (bichectomy) is a procedure designed to thin the lower third of the face, giving a greater projection of the cheekbones and a more elongated appearance of the face. A bichectomy removes the buccal fat of the cheeks, resulting in prominent cheekbones, a better-defined jaw, and an overall slimmer, more sculpted look. It's a relatively simple procedure that involves making a small incision on the inside of the cheeks, near the fat pads, and removing them. Local anesthesia is used, and no sutures are involved! It is a quick procedure, which takes less than 30 minutes to complete. Once a bichectomy is complete the optimal results are seen within 3 months.

Savannah Medical Clinic UV Project" is looking for 20 lucky patients to receive a free "Ultraviolet (UV) Skin Assessment" of their face on Sunday, March 21st, 10am-2pm. A "Free UV Portrait" 📸 will also be given to everyone.

A UV camera (uv camera) is a modified camera that makes it possible to see the effects of the sun on your skin that are not visible to the human eye.

A "UV Skin Assessment" will show exactly where you are experiencing specific problems and what these are (ie. oiliness in the t-zone, dehydration on the cheeks, freckles, hyperpigmentation, sun damage, etc). This information helps dermatologists determine areas that need targeting, which helps make your treatment or product plan as effective as possible.

Different skin types react differently to years of sun exposure. The reaction to harmful UV rays are skin changes, the intensity of which depends on the ability of the skin to defend itself against harmful UV rays. A modified UV camera reveals the "scale of damage" caused by the sun. The older we get the more skin lesions become visible under UV light.

Most importantly, a "UV Skin Assessment" shows the benefits of using sunblock/sunscreen to prevent the harmful effects of the sun's rays. Sunscreen/sunblock products work by absorbing, reflecting, or scattering sunlight.

We ask that you arrive at your "UV Skin Assessment" without any make-up, powder, or lotion on your face. This will allow us to see your natural skin clearly under UV light. You may reapply it once your skin has been thoroughly assessed and your "Free UV Portrait" 📸 is taken.

Spread the word but not the germs – it’s National Hand washing Awareness Week! The first full week of December was given this designation to remind people of the importance of hand-washing as we go into cold and flu season. But this year hand-washing is more important than ever due to COVID-19. People frequently touch their eyes, noses, and mouths without even realising it, allowing germs a pathway into the body.

We recommend that you wash your hands for at least 20 seconds – about the length of time it takes to hum “Happy Birthday” – and then rinse in clean, running water and dry your hands with an air dryer or clean towel.

Follow these five steps every time you wash your hands:
1. Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
2. Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
3. Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.
4. Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
5. Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.
