Founded in 2016, it offers skills, support, and hope—believing deaf people can thrive and succeed just like anyone else. The Hands of Hope Center is a vocational training and education center for the deaf in Laos. Founded with a strong vision to uplift and empower deaf individuals, HOH provides education, life skills, and job training for children, youth, and adults who are deaf. Since its establi

shment in 2016, the center has grown into a safe and supportive community where deaf people can learn, express themselves, and develop their talents. The center offers classes in Lao Sign Language, reading and writing, computer skills, and various vocational training programs. HOH also works to raise awareness about deaf culture and advocate for the rights of people with disabilities. The center organizes events, workshops, and campaigns to promote inclusion, reduce discrimination, and build a more understanding society. At the heart of the Hands of Hope Center is a commitment to equality, dignity, and opportunity—believing that deaf people can do anything, except hear.

On June 25, the Hands of Hope Vocational Training Center for the Deaf was filled with happiness as our students got the opportunity to explore new experiences in learning about hair cutting and makeup.
For many of our students, this was their first time learning these skills. They were excited to try hair cutting, styling, and practicing basic makeup techniques. These skills will not only build their confidence but also open up new career opportunities in the future.
🙏💛 We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who made this activity possible and supported our vocational training center. Because of your kindness and support, our deaf students can continue to learn, grow, and prepare for a better future.

Since 2016, the Hands of Hope Education Center for the Hearing Impaired has been dedicated to empowering the deaf community. Over the years, we’ve grown and achieved so much together. Last year, we reached a major milestone by opening the first private school for the deaf, providing specialized education tailored to their needs. 🎓

We’re excited to announce our transformation into the Hands of Hope Vocational Training Center for the Deaf. This change reflects our expanded mission to provide both quality education and essential vocational skills, empowering deaf individuals for a brighter future. 🙌

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. Your encouragement and involvement have been crucial to our journey. As we continue to run the Hands of Hope School for the Deaf and expand our vocational training programs, we look forward to your continued support in this new chapter. On September 24, 2024, the Department of Policy for Devotees, Persons with Disabilities, and Older Persons hosted the Disability Technical Working Group Meeting at New Rose Hotel. This significant event brought together representatives from OPDs, NGOs, INGOs, and government sectors to discuss and report on the development activities for persons with disabilities from January to August 2024.

📊 Key discussions focused on the progress made in improving the lives of persons with disabilities and the strategic direction for the remainder of 2024. The collective efforts aim to create inclusive opportunities and enhance support for the disabled community across Laos.

ນີ້ເປັນຂີດໝາຍອັນສຳຄັນໃນປະຫວັດສາດລາວ ເພາະເປັນຄັ້ງທຳອິດທີ່ສະມາຊິກລາວໄດ້ມີໂອກາດຮຽນຫຼັກສູດລ່າມພາສາມືຊຸມຊົນໃນລະດັບນີ້. ໂຄງການນີ້ບໍ່ພຽງແຕ່ເປັນຜົນສໍາເລັດຂອງນັກສຶກສາ 10 ຄົນນີ້ເທົ່ານັ້ນ, ແຕ່ເປັນບາດກ້າວອັນສຳຄັນທີ່ສຸດຂອງຊຸມຊົນຄົນຫູໜວກໃນປະເທດລາວ.👏

We are thrilled to announce that 10 talented individuals have been awarded scholarships by the Thai Embassy to attend an online community sign language course, taught by esteemed professors from Suan Dusit University! Suan Dusit University 🎓✨

This achievement marks a significant milestone in the history of Laos, as it is the first time that our members have had the opportunity to study community sign language at such an advanced level. This project is not only a success for these 10 students but also a critical step forward for the deaf community in Laos. 👏

Sign language interpreters play an essential role in bridging communication gaps, fostering inclusion, and ensuring that the voices of the deaf community are heard and understood by society. By enhancing the skills and knowledge of these sign language learners, we are contributing to a more inclusive society where everyone can communicate and connect, regardless of hearing ability. 🙏🎓

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Thai Embassy for their generous support of this scholarship program and to Suan Dusit University for providing this invaluable learning opportunity. 🙏
