Ultrasound” – a tool we all know well for checking on a little one growing inside a mother’s womb. But did you know that ultrasound can also be used to check the overall health of your internal organs?
🔎 Ultrasound for detecting abnormalities
Ultrasound (Ultrasound or Ultrasound scanning) is a diagnostic procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to create images that help doctors make more accurate diagnoses. It is completely safe and painless, as the probe is only moved across the surface of the abdomen.
For health check-ups, ultrasound examinations are generally divided into two main types:
1. Ultrasound of the Upper Abdomen (Ultrasound of the Upper Abdomen) – used to examine abnormalities of organs above the navel, such as the liver, spleen, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, kidneys, and abdominal aorta.
2. Ultrasound of the Lower Abdomen (Ultrasound of the Lower Abdomen) – used to examine organs below the navel, such as the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, prostate gland, urinary bladder, as well as ovarian cysts or uterine fibroids.
✅ Who should get an Upper Abdominal Ultrasound?
• Individuals aged 30 and above
• Those experiencing chronic abdominal pain
✅ Who should get a Lower Abdominal Ultrasound?
• Individuals aged 30 and above
• Those who suffer from frequent menstrual pain
• Those with irregular menstrual cycles
Taking care of your internal organ health is something that should never be overlooked. A healthy inside reflects on the outside too. Don’t wait until your body shows signs of abnormality—check early, know early, stay safe!
