Ability truly takes many forms 🌟

To begin our commemoration of the upcoming International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we kicked off our first ‘Know Me More’ activity on November 15th.

Together with our partners, we had the privilege of visiting Lao Disabled Womens Development Center and XonPhao, where we learned about pottery and saw how recycled materials are transformed into beautiful new products. It's a powerful reminder that creativity, skill, and ability are everywhere.

ເປັນອາທິດທີ່ເຕັມໄປດ້ວຍກິດຈະກຳຫຼາກຫຼາຍ! ເພື່ອເປັນການເລີ່ມຕົ້ນໃນການສະເຫຼີມສະຫຼອງວັນຄົນພິການສາກົນທີ່ຈະມາເຖິງນີ້, ພວກເຮົາໄດ້ເລີ່ມກິດຈະກຳທຳອິດ ‘ມາຮູ້ຈັກຂ້ອຍໃຫ້ຫຼາຍຂຶ້ນ’ ໃນວັນທີ 15 ພະຈິກ ທີ່ຜ່ານມາ.

ພວກເຮົາ ແລະ ຄູ່ຮ່ວມງານ ມີໂອກາດໄດ້ໄປຢ້ຽມຢາມສູນພັດທະນາແມ່ຍິງພິການລາວ ແລະ ກຸ່ມຫັດຖະກໍາຄົນພິການ ແລະ ຊົນເຜົ່າ, ເຊິ່ງພວກເຮົາໄດ້ຮຽນຮູ້ກ່ຽວກັບວິທີການປັ້ນເຄື່ອງປັ້ນດິນເຜົາ ແລະ ໄດຮຽນຮູ້ກ່ຽວກັບການໃຊ້ວັດສະດຸຄືນໃໝ່ເພື່ອເຮັດໃຫ້ກາຍເປັນຜະລິດຕະພັນທີ່ສວຍງາມ. ອັນນີ້ເປັນສິ່ງຢໍ້າເຕືອນພວກເຮົາວ່າ ຄວາມຄິດສ້າງສັນ, ທັກສະ ແລະ ຄວາມສາມາດແມ່ນມີຢູ່ທົ່ວທຸກແຫ່ງ.

📊 The 2025 Population and Housing Census is now underway in Lao PDR. 🇱🇦

To support this critical national exercise, 35 UN Volunteers have completed specialized training and are now ready to be deployed as Census Observers across all 18 provinces.

In partnership with UNFPA Laos , these volunteers are helping to ensure the Census is conducted with integrity, transparency, and accuracy — providing essential data to inform evidence-based planning and policy-making.

✅ Every person counts. Every data point matters.

ການສຳຫຼວດພົນລະເມືອງຄັ້ງທີ 5 ປີ 2025 ຍັງສືບຕໍ່ດຳເນີນດານທົ່ວປະເທດ ແລະ ໃນໄລຍະນີ້ໄດ້ມີການເລີ່ມຕົ້ນຂະບວນການໃນການຮັບປະກັນຄຸນນະພາບ ແລະ ຄວາມໂປ່ງໃສ. 📊

ພວກເຮົາຈະຮັບປະກັນໄດ້ແນວໃດວ່າຂໍ້ມູນທີ່ພວກເຮົາເກັບກຳມີຄວາມໂປ່ງໃສ, ມີຄຸນນະພາບສູງ ແລະ ຖຶກຈັດຕັ້ງປະຕິບັດ ຕາມມາດຕະຖານສາກົນ? ➡ ຜ່ານການສັງເກດການນັ້ນເອງ! ✅

ດັ່ງນັ້ນ, ໃນອາທິດນີ້ ອົງການ UNFPA ຮ່ວມກັບສູນສະຖິຕິແຫ່ງຊາດ, ກະຊວງການເງິນ ໄດ້ຈັດຝຶກອົບຮົມເປັນເວລາ 2 ວັນ ແກ່ໃຫ້ນັກສັງເກດການອິດສະຫລະ ຈຳນວນ 36 ທ່ານ ກ່ອນຈະຖຶກສົງໄປທົ່ວປະເທດ ເພື່ອສັງເກດການເກັບກໍາຂໍ້ມູນ ພາກສະໜາມຂອງການສໍາຫຼວດພົນລະເມືອງ ແລະ ທີ່ຢູ່ອາໄສ.

🔑 ພາລະກິດຂອງພວກເຂົາແມ່ນ: ລົງສັງເກດຂະບວນການເກັບກຳຂໍ້ມູນ ແລະ ຊ່ວຍຮັບປະກັນວ່າວຽກງານແຫ່ງຊາດອັນສຳຄັນນີ້ ສ້າງຜົນຜະລິດທີ່ເຊື່ອຖືໄດ້. ຂໍ້ມູນທີ່ມີຄຸນນະພາບ ເລີ່ມຈາກຂະບວນການທີ່ມີຄຸນນະພາບ!

The 2025 census continues across the country and the process of ensuring quality and transparency is also underway. 📊

But how do we ensure the data we collect is transparent, high-quality, and meets international standards? ➡ Through observation! ✅

This week, UNFPA in collaboration with the Lao Statistics Bureau and the Ministry of Finance to train 36 independent observers. This two-day session is equipping them with the knowledge and tools they need before they deploy nationwide.

🔑 Their mission: To observe the data collection process and help guarantee this vital national undertaking is one we can all trust. Quality data starts with a quality process!

🤝 ການປະສານງານທີ່ເຂັ້ມແຂງ ແມ່ນການສະໜັບສະໜູນຜູ້ລອດຊີວິດ.

ຄະນະກຳມະການປະສານງານເພື່ອຕ້ານຄວາມຮຸນແຮງບົນພື້ນຖານທາງເພດ (GBV) ໃນແຂວງບໍລິຄຳໄຊ, ພ້ອມດ້ວຍທັງຄູ່ຮ່ວມງານຫຼັກແຫຼ່ງຈາກສະຫະພັນແມ່ຍິງແຂວງ, ຂະແໜງການສາທາລະນະສຸກ ແລະ ຕຳຫຼວດ ໄດ້ຈັດກແວປະຊຸມຮ່ວມກັນເພື່ອສ້າງຄວາມເຂັ້ມແຂງໃນການບໍລິການສົ່ງຕໍ່ ສຳລັບຜູ້ລອດຊີວິດ GBV.

ວຽກງານອັນສຳຄັນນີ້ຮັບປະກັນວ່າ ເມື່ອຜູ້ລອດຊີວິດຊອກຫາການຊ່ວຍເຫຼືອຈາກການບໍລິການໃດໜຶ່ງ, ພວກເຂົາຈະໄດ້ຮັບການຊ່ວຍເຫຼືອດ້ານອື່ນໆທີ່ພວກເຂົາຕ້ອງການ ຢ່າງປອດໄພ ແລະ ມີປະສິດທິພາບ ນັບຕັ້ງແຕ່ການບໍລິການດ້ານການແພດຈົນເຖິງ ດ້ານຄວາມຍຸຕິທຳ.

🤝 Stronger coordination. Better support for survivors.

The GBV Coordination Committee in Bolikhamxay, including key partners from the Provincial Women's Union, Health, and Police, met to strengthen their joint referral services for GBV survivors.

This vital work ensures that when a survivor seeks help from one service, they are safely and effectively connected to all the support they need—from medical care to justice.
