A day of honor and remembrance at the Lebanese American University Medical Center–Rizk Hospital as we unveiled the statue of Dr. Assaad Rizk, a visionary whose legacy continues to shape healthcare in Lebanon.
Mr. Sami Rizk opened the ceremony with a heartfelt speech celebrating his father’s pioneering vision, followed by a moving film highlighting Dr. Rizk’s life, legacy, and the power of partnership between medicine and academia.
LAU President Dr. Chaouki T. Abdallah also addressed the audience, emphasizing that Dr. Assaad Rizk was not only a visionary but also an entrepreneur who transformed a family hospital into what stands today as a leading research and academic medical center.
The ceremony was attended by Mrs. Colette Rizk, wife of Dr. Assaad Rizk, along with family members, LAU vice presidents, Deans, physicians, faculty, nurses, staff and distinguished guests.

During the Barbara Nassar Pinky Promise Event, Our LAU Mobile Clinic with our LAU Medical Centers team of Resident, Nurses, nutritionists and staff along with the LAU School of Pharmacy, the nutrition department of the LAU Arts and Sciences School, provided breast cancer awareness, medical check-ups, nutrition tips for a healthier life, games and engagement by the our pharmacist in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Tomorrow, we’re proud to serve the community in collaboration with St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in Beirut. We will be offering free medical services in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Ophthalmology.

President Nabih Berri welcomed a delegation from the Lebanese American University led by LAU President Dr. Chaouki T. Abdallah, who shared the landmark news that LAU’s New York campus is now officially licensed by the State of New York to grant university degrees directly from the campus itself. This historic step strengthens LAU’s global standing and creates a powerful educational bridge linking Lebanon to one of the world’s most respected academic systems.
The delegation also presented President Berri with a formal invitation to attend the Centennial Gala Celebration of the LAU Medical Center–Rizk Hospital, scheduled on December 9, honoring 100 years of care, innovation, and and advancing medicine.

For the second year in a row, Dr. Zaki Sleiman, Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, was invited to perform live surgeries at the prestigious European Society for Gynaecological Endoscopy (ESGE) Congress, one of the world’s leading events in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, bringing together over 2,500 specialists from around the globe.
Showcasing cutting-edge surgical techniques, Dr. Sleiman represented LAU and LAU Medical Center–Rizk Hospital’s ongoing commitment to excellence, education, and innovation in women’s health. Last year’s congress was held in Marseille, and this year’s in Istanbul.
