SPIL president and board members participated in the first national dialogue on pharmaceutical sector reform, led by the Ministry of Public Health, with the support of the WHO and funding from the European Union.

The presence of His Excellency the Minister of Public Health, along with WHO, EU, and national experts from both the public and private sectors, reflected a true commitment to advancing this much-needed reform.

SPIL reaffirmed the key reforms required to strengthen, grow, and expand Lebanon’s pharmaceutical industry — locally and across export markets.

The Syndicate of the Pharmaceutical Industries in Lebanon was founded in 2016. It comprises all the pharmaceutical manufacturers granted an authorization for exploitation of pharmaceutical plant according to the international good manufacturing practices by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.

Recap of the visit by Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nasreddine, to four leading Lebanese pharmaceutical companies: Pharmaline, UBSA, Benta, and Algorithm.
During the visit, Dr. Nasreddine witnessed the advanced level reached by the Lebanese pharmaceutical industry in terms of technology, skilled workforce, and productivity.
He emphasized the importance of supporting this vital sector, as it plays a key role in strengthening both Lebanon’s healthcare security and economic stability.
