I wish I didn’t have to know how hard it is to sustain a business through war. I wish none of us had to. And I wish it was just this one war... It’s corruption, bureaucracy, uprisings, economic collapse, internal strife, the largest non-nuclear blast in history, and.. multiple wars.
I started my business in 2009 at just 23, and sometimes I wonder, if I knew then what it would take to keep going, would I still do it? I don’t know actually. I don’t know if I would. But I know for sure I’m not about to give up now. Not yet at least. That I know for sure.
It’s been tough, to say the least, but then you have days like this, when the sun shines again and sheds light on all the little things we have to be grateful for. Our team who has shown an unmatched dedication and loyalty. Our suppliers who have shown empathy that knows no bounds and have made concessions that no business handbook could ever teach you about. Our community who shows up day in and day out, whether to make a purchase, send a message of solidarity, or make a donation towards our many CSR initiatives.
The sun shines and reminds me of all the incredible humans behind this little happy place, this little dream of mine, the humans that make it all worthwhile.
And I remember all those years ago when I approached my dad with a PowerPoint presentation and he turned me away and said, “in this country you don’t make a business plan. You dive in, you listen to your gut, and you always pray that fate is on your side. Either do it, or regret it forever”. He was right. He was always right.
Praying that fate will be on our side… on the side of Lebanon and all its people. 🤲🇱🇧
The sun is shining today and it reminds me to thank you for being the reason we continue. 🙏
