ical students, residents, and fellows, and thriving to maintain high quality research productivity. In addition to our state-of-the-art clinical services, we are recognized regionally as a center of excellence for physician training. The department of Anesthesiology offers a four-year residency training program, a fellowship training program in Cardiovascular Anesthesia, clerkship rotations, in addition to elective rotations for medical students and residents from other specialties. The Anesthesiology Residency Training program at the American University of Beirut Medical Center and Faculty of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education - International (ACGME-I) and has been in substantial compliance with its foundational and advanced specialty requirements since July 2016. The Department of Anesthesiology at the American University of Beirut Medical Center is also dedicated to investigating important scientific and clinical questions in different anesthesia sub-specialties. Moreover, our faculty conduct grant-funded and departmentally-funded research aiming at assessing patient outcomes following anesthesia. The Department also publishes the Middle East Journal of Anesthesiology (MEJA) three times per year. MEJA publishes manuscripts related to the practice of anesthesiology and pain medicine.
