Embrace is a non-profit organization (NGO) which works to raise awareness around mental health in Lebanon and the Middle East.

A Lebanese NGO dedicated to Mental Health in Lebanon with a mission to raise awareness and provide direct support to the community via the 1564 National Lifeline and the Embrace Mental Health Center - 01346226 Embrace launched as an affiliation with the Department of Psychiatry at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) back in 2013. As of August 2017, Embrace became an official registered NGO in Lebanon. It is a one of a kind charitable and fundraising initiative for mental illnesses. Embrace seeks to inform and support people who need help by dispelling the myths and misinformation that surround mental illness. Embrace provides information about the resources available to people who live in Lebanon. Embrace also raises money to help provide needed treatment and care for people who cannot afford it. In September 2017, Embrace launched the first national suicide prevention helpline in Lebanon.

You can help save lives by joining our team of volunteer operators on the National Lifeline 1564 - The National Emotional Support and Su***de Prevention Hotline in collaboration between The National Mental Health Programme and Embrace

Conditions of application:

- Age 21 years or above
- Ability to commit to serve as volunteer helpline operator for a minimum of one year
- Ability to cover 4 to 8 hours of volunteering per week
- Ability to commit in covering shifts around the clock including shifts running between 12:00 am and 6:00 am.

You will receive intensive training, so educational background in Psychology is not required

Deadline for application: April 11, 2026.
