Embrace Embrace is a non-profit organization (NGO) which works to raise awareness around mental health in Lebanon and the Middle East.

A Lebanese NGO dedicated to Mental Health in Lebanon with a mission to raise awareness and provide direct support to the community via the 1564 National Lifeline and the Embrace Mental Health Center - 01346226 Embrace launched as an affiliation with the Department of Psychiatry at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) back in 2013. As of August 2017, Embrace became an official

registered NGO in Lebanon. It is a one of a kind charitable and fundraising initiative for mental illnesses. Embrace seeks to inform and support people who need help by dispelling the myths and misinformation that surround mental illness. Embrace provides information about the resources available to people who live in Lebanon. Embrace also raises money to help provide needed treatment and care for people who cannot afford it. In September 2017, Embrace launched the first national suicide prevention helpline in Lebanon.

📍 غزير: نظّمت جمعية "إمبرايس" ثلاث جلسات توعوية حول الوقاية من الإنتحار والتعريف بالخط الوطني للدعم النفسي 1564، لتعلّم مهارات الدعم النفسي ومواجهة الضغوط اليومية وكيفية تقديم الدعم النفسي للآخرين، وذلك في مدرسة الراهبات الأنطونيات - غزير، وشارك فيها 130 تلميذاً بأعمار تتراوح بين 15 و16 سنة.

تم تنفيذ هذا العمل من قبل جمعية إمبرايس، بالتنسيق مع لجنة الإنقاذ الدولية (IRC) وذلك بدعم من الصندوق الإثتماني متعدد المانحين لحالات النزوح القسري الذي يديره البنك الدولي، وشراكة بروسبكتس "PROSPECTS" المدعومة من مملكة هولندا.

📍Ghazir: Embrace, in cooperation held three awareness sessions on su***de prevention and the National Lifeline 1564 at the Antonine Sisters school – Ghazir. The sessions aimed to teach emotional support skills and how to cope with daily stressors, and how to support others, and were attended by 130 students aged between 15 and 16 years.

This work was implemented by Embrace NGO, in coordination with the International Rescue Committee (IRC). It is made possible by the World Bank administered Multi Donor Trust Fund for Forced Displacement and the PROSPECTS Partnership, supported by the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

In response to Lebanon’s ongoing mental health crisis, Embrace continues to intervene in collective shelters across Mount Lebanon and Beirut.

Our teams are still on the ground, regularly visiting multiple locations where families remain displaced, ensuring to provide emotional support.
Through dedicated activities for children and adolescents, we create safe spaces where they can express distress through conversation, art, and play.

We were here yesterday, we are today and will be the day after. Because mental health needs don’t recede after crisis, they only surface.
