Some parents celebrate their child’s success with overflowing joy: ! You’re amazing!’, but when that same child makes a mistake or struggles, the tone changes: ‘You always mess up,’ or ‘What’s wrong with you?’
This ambivalent reaction sends mixed signals. The child starts to believe they are lovable only when they succeed, and unworthy when they fail.
But children are learning. They need guidance, not judgment.
They deserve encouragement when they do well and gentle support when they don’t.
Let’s move away from extremes and build a safe space where children feel valued in both success and failure.
Because growth happens when love is steady, not conditional. ゚viralシfypシ゚
