In Lebanon, the TV news channel was on since 7am—I literally woke up to it every morning. 📺
It filled our homes from morning to night.

We grew up listening to politicians instead of music, and watching endless footage of wars and conflicts instead of the songs of birds in nature.

But here’s the truth—
👉 The news feeds your brain with fear, negativity, wars, and conflict. It rarely celebrates life.
👉 The birds sing in harmony...they feed your soul, uplift you, and heal you. 🕊️

Be conscious of what you’re listening to. This isn’t about being ignorant...it’s about staying informed without drowning in noise.

And now, the birds themselves are in grave danger. Every year, some 2.6 million birds are shot or die after being trapped in illegal nets in Lebanon. Among them are endangered, vulnerable, and near-threatened species.

Some poor farmers catch birds to sell to restaurants or shops. For others, shooting birds has become a competitive sport or cultural pastime... something many Lebanese do on weekends for fun.

The repercussions are felt far beyond our borders, because Lebanon lies on the African-Eurasian flyway, one of the world’s most important migratory routes.

These birds are fragile, sacred singers of our land. Protecting them isn’t just about nature—it’s about preserving our soul’s soundtrack. 🌿

✨ Choose birds, nature, and silence at least some of the time.
✨ Protect your nervous system.
✨ Celebrate the songs of life around you.

AND PROTECT OUR BIRDS. AT ALL COST. 🕊️

Look into your eyes and say: “You are beautiful. You are whole. You are enough exactly as you are.” 🪞

An Brazilian artist, Néle Azevedo surprised with a shocking exhibit titled "Life is short, enjoy it before it melts," where he used ice blocks as the protagonists. The sculptures, created in elaborate and ephemeral forms, were designed to melt slowly, symbolizing the fragility of existence and the need to cherish every moment.

The exhibition sought to generate reflection not only on the impermanence of life, but also on the impact of climate change, showing how something seemingly solid can disappear over time.

Art Journaling is an individual form of self-care, which consists of a blend of imagery and writing, with no right or wrong way to do it. This process stimulates creativity and mindfulness, and supports personal growth and emotional strength, making it a valuable tool for self-expression and self-awareness enhancement.
This creative safe haven promotes the internal exploration of one’s internal garden 🪴 where its seeds are embedded with the process of creative imagination 💭
This workshop began with a warm-up through a non-verbal art making activity for the check-in, followed by bodily movement mirroring. It was then followed by art journal decoration , writing, and an emotional check out of the process in a safe space.

I’d like to thank the participants’ presence, support, engagement and verbal consent for their appearance and their imagery in this reel.
Im also grateful to for hosting this intimate hybrid workshop and for inviting me to facilitate this workshop.

Dealing with of loss and grief in this group art therapy group session, where we started with mindfulness meditation, breathing, a colourful letting go activity with the non dominant hand, followed by a gradual descent into the unconscious exploring feelings of loss and grief using charcoal media on paper as the projective vehicle.

Participants were then invited to lift colour from the paper using their fingers to draw out their internal imagery. We dealt with anger through grounding somatic movement, then ended with hope and light💡 using the eraser to trace abstract shapes and lines in the final images.
Stretching and bouncing movements helped release somatically stored trauma.
The participants kindly gave their verbal consent for their presence and images in this post.
I am grateful for for collaborating in this event, and for the participants’ inquisitive exploration of art therapy, active participation and courage to face such emotions touching on the personal and collective unconscious of PTSD linked to loss and grief.
