The hormone cortisol has many functions; one of which helps fight off infection and sickness.

More cortisol circulates in our blood during the day, which suppresses our immune system. This means that your white blood cells, which are responsible for fighting infections, are less active during the day.

At night, there is less cortisol in your blood, so your white blood cells detect and fight infections in your body at this time, causing the symptoms of the infection to increase making us feel sicker at night.

Make sure to sleep well and drink water to strengthen your immune system for faster recovery!πŸ’¦πŸ˜΄

οΌ΄οΌ©οΌ°οΌ³:
- Always feed a bottle first since the bulk of your baby's nutrition needs comes from breastmilk or formula
- Start with very thin/liquidy food for example when feeding your baby avocado or carrots blend it with enough water to make it easy to swallow
-Observe your baby after feeding to see if they have an allergic reaction to new foods
-Introduce solid foods 1 at a time with at least 3-4 days in between in order to know what food caused the allergy if it happened

Who else craves a steamy bowl of soup during this winter weather?β˜”οΈ
This delicious broccoli cheese soup blends sauteed veggies and fresh broccoli with cheddar cheese and other flavorful ingredients to create a rich,creamy and filling meal that’s easy to make in 30 minutes or less!😍🍡
βœ…Gluten-free

Serves 4️⃣ (1 cup each)
You’ll need:

-1 tablespoon of coconut oil or unsalted butter
-1/2 cup of chopped carrots or approx. 1 medium carrot
-1/2 cup of chopped onion or approx. 3/4 a medium one
-2 cloves of finely chopped garlic
-2 cups of low-fat or coconut milk
-2 cups of vegetable broth or 1 cube
-3 cups of chopped broccoli florets
-1/4 teaspoon paprika
-3/4 teaspoon of salt
-1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
-1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
-2 tablespoons of cornstarch

How to make it:
1-Add the oil or butter to a large pot and heat over medium-high heat.
2-Add carrot,onion and garlic;cook 5min until carrots begin to soften.
3- Add broth,broccoli,paprika;season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10min until broccoli is very soft.
4-Place broccoli mixture in blender, in 2 or more batches, if necessary;cover with lid.Blend until smooth then return soup to pot.
5- Toss cheese with cornstarch to coat. Bring soup to a very gentle simmer.
6- Whisk in cheese mixture a little at a time until cheese is melted and soup is thick.

Per serving contains:
259 calories
Carbs: 18g
Fat: 13g
Protein: 16g

πŸ§€And yes you can have cheddar cheese and be healthy! It contains a high concentration of high quality protein and calcium!

This Christmas Frozen Yogurt Bark is an easy and healthy snack that would be a great idea to add on your dessert table this holiday season!πŸ€—πŸŒ²

Ingredients for 18 pieces:
500 g (2 cups) Natural Greek Yogurt
3 Kiwi
5 Strawberries (chopped into small pieces)
1 tbsp Dried Cranberries

Instructions:
Thinly slice the kiwis and then, using a tree shaped cookie cutter, cut a tree from each slice.*
Line a rimmed baking tray with baking paper.
Pour the yogurt into the centre of the tray and spread evenly.
Place the kiwi trees, strawberries and cranberries as desired onto the yogurt. (see picture to see how I arranged)
Freeze until completely solid (approx. 4 hours.)
Cut into sections and serve.
Place sections into a zip lock bag and store in the freezer.

Calories per square serving:49 kcal only!

Christmas is near and I’m sure most of you are thinking of what sweets can be put on the table but at the same time be healthy in a way! These simple yet mouthwatering cinnamon date rolls can be one!⛄️

INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
1 1/2 cups almond
1/2 cup walnuts
1 1/2 cup pitted medjool dates
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon water (optional)
3 tablespoons cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS:
Add almonds and walnuts to the food processor and pulse until nuts are about the size of peas. Then add in the dates, vanilla and salt and run on high until the dough forms into a large ball. If it isn’t coming together and is dry, add 1 tablespoon of water and pulse until it comes together.
Then take half of the mixture out of the food processor and press into 1 even layer about 1/4 inch thick on parchment paper.
Then add cinnamon to the rest of the dough and pulse until combined. Take the cinnamon dough and press evenly on top of the first layer. Then starting at one end, tightly roll up the dough and situate seam side down. Wrap the roll in plastic wrap and place in the freezer for at least 1 hour.
Slice into 1/2 inch thick slices and take out of freezer right before serving time🍰

A chocolaty, crunchy treat that’s simple, healthy and quick to make! I used 70% dairy-free dark chocolate, but it will work with any chocolate you prefer!
Ingredients for 6 rings:
β€’200g dairy-free dark chocolate
β€’2 tbsp almond butter – any nut butter will work, or you can use a seed butter/coconut oil for a nut-free version
β€’1 cup protein crispies, rice crispies or quinoa pops
Method:
Break up the chocolate into a heatproof bowl, then add in the almond butter. You can either melt it in the microwave, stirring every minute or so, or you can place it on top of a small pan of simmering water until it has completely melted.
Add the crispies into the bowl and fold to combine.
Divide the mixture between 6 doughnut rings. Place in the fridge for 1-2 hours or until the chocolate has set.

Do you think drinking a lot of water immediately before a meal is a helpful hunger suppressant?πŸ’§
WRONG! Water will only fill your stomach for a few minutes and once eliminated from the body, you will cry for food especially if you needed the energy intake.
By doing this, you won’t be getting the nutrients you need from a main meal and you have increased the risk for unhealthy snacking later on! ❌

A cup of skimmed milk contains 30% of calcium while a cup of full fat milk contains 27%! WHY?
Fat and calcium are not directly linked! Milk is divided into 2 proportions, the fat and water proportion which contains the calcium. When we remove the fat, automatically the watery proportion will increase and that means the percentage of calcium increases too!

It’s not a great difference, TRUE!
But why do we recommend skimmed milk?
Because it’s lower in calories and mainly in saturated fat!πŸ₯›
