📝 But these studies do indicate that coffee can have some very positive benefits as well!

👩‍🔬 Researches found that people who drank 500 ml of dark roast coffee brew for 4 weeks had a 23% reduction in DNA damage vs those who just consumed water during that same time period.

🧬 DNA damage can lead to mutations and alteration in DNA structure that is capable of leading to disease.

✅ It is said that coffee is helpful in this area due to it’s high polyphenol content

Bottom line? Focus on eating foods with vitamin B9 and you will have no problem getting the daily folate your body needs. Those include Leafy greens such as kale, cabbage, and spinach, as well as beans, peas, and chickpeas and broccoli and Brussels sprouts.

People don't think much about folate unless they're pregnant but it plays a critical role in your body's ability to create DNA and may protect against cancer.

Homemade falafel chickpea bites!! you can serve on bowls, salad, pita bread, in a wrap, or with sauces like hummus, tzatziki, or tahini!...By

makes 12-15 balls
1 14 ounce can chickpeas drained
1/2 cup parsley
1/4 cup cilantro
1/4 cup onion

1/2 tsp salt (or to preference)
2 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp garlic powder (or fresh garlic)
1/4 tsp pepper

3-4 tbsp flour
1 tsp baking powder
olive oil

-in a food processor, blend all ingredients except for flour & baking powder together until combined & slightly chunky
-mix in flour and baking powder, it should be able to hold a shape
-store in the fridge for whenever you want to use it (or skip this)
-shape the mixture
-either pan fry on a greased pan OR brush all sides with olive oil, bake until golden brown at 375 for 20-30 min (flip halfway through)

in this video it’s:
-dipped in greek yogurt hummus (mix 1 tbsp greek yogurt w/ 2 tbsp hummus)
-on a salad & pita bread: both have romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, red onions, cucumbers, & greek yogurt hummus

To ensure adequate magnesium intake, make sure to include plenty of:
-seeds (pumpkin seeds are particularly high in magnesium)
-nuts (like almonds and cashews)
-vegetables (including leafy greens like spinach)
-beans
-dairy product's
-soy products (such as edamame and tofu)

Who wants a healthy ice cream alternative?! 🍨

🍌🍫 What about a Healthy magnum nice cream recipe by

Magic Shell
2-4 tbsp chocolate chips of choice
1-2 tsp coconut oil
*make more if needed for jar size

Nice Cream (makes 2)
6 frozen (overnight) bananas or 1 14oz can full fat coconut milk frozen overnight into ice cubes (closer taste to real ice cream)
1-2 tsp vanilla
maple syrup or sweetener of choice to taste (optional, I used about 1/3 cup with the coconut milk cubes)
Pinch salt
*add 2+tbsp nut butter or coconut milk cream (thick creamy part on top of unshaken/chilled can) for optimal creaminess the more the creamier
Up to 1/4 cup almond milk only if needed to help blend (use as little as possible or none if your blender will allow it)
Less liquid=thicker 😊

I filled it with some homemade coconut milk+coconut sugar caramel for some caramel core action 😋

Prepare magic shell by microwaving chocolate chips and coconut oil together in 20-30 second increments (stirring in between) until fully melted.

To make nice cream blend ingredients together in HIGH POWERED blender or food processor until smooth, using tamper or stopping machine to scrape down sides. Use as little liquid as your blender will allow for max thickness! Be careful not to overblend or it’ll get thin. For best results add your coconut cream/nut butter/almond milk first at the bottom to help blades blend everything smoothly. Add almond milk sparingly, and only if needed to help blend.

Transfer nice cream to a jar and quickly pour chocolate mixture over the top. It may freeze right away or you can pop it in the freezer for a few minutes to harden - eat right away though as it will melt quickly!
