لم يعد هناك من مجال للشك حول العلاقة الوثيقة التي تربط ما بين نمط الحياة المتبع والإصابة بالسرطان، وبشكل خاص سرطان الثدي.

وفيما ظهر في الدراسات أن الإفراط في تناول الكحول والتدخين والتعرض للأستروجين وبعض الأنظمة الغذائية، خصوصاً الأنظمة الغربية الغنية بالأطعمة المصنعة تزيد خطر الإصابة بسرطان الثدي، تبين أن اتباع النظام المتوسطي يساهم في خفض معدلات الإصابة بسرطان الثدي.

كما تبين بشكل واضح أن ثمة أطعمة تزيد الخطر وأخرى يمكن التركيز عليها لاعتبارها تخفف منه، بحسب ما توضح اختصاصية التغذية مايا شقرا .

Belly fat is notoriously difficult to lose. However, the good news is that running is one of the best forms of exercise to lose it.🏃🏃🏼‍♀️

To shed that stubborn belly fat, you should work your way up to 30 to 60 minutes of moderate-intensity activity four to five times a week.

That sounds like a lot!!!🤭
Instead, I try to fit in three 30 minute runs per week, then add a swim and a gym session or dance class.💃🏊🏻‍♀️

⚠️ A runner who weighs 80kg burns 170 calories when running for 10 minutes at a steady pace.

But remember long runs alone aren’t going to help You also need to make dietary and lifestyle changes to get the best result😊✌️

Many factors can affect your weight and lead to overweight or obesity. Some of these factors may make it hard for you to lose weight or avoid regaining weight that you’ve lost.

Overweight and obesity tend to run in families, suggesting that genes may play a role. Your chances of being overweight are greater if one or both of your parents are overweight or have obesity. Your genes may affect the amount of fat you store in your body and where on your body you carry the extra fat.

Many other factors can also make it harder to lose weight BUT these can be controllable including:
🔸What and how much you eat
🔸Not getting regular physical activity or being inactive
🔸Taking certain medicines
🔸Having certain medical conditions
🔸Having difficulty in managing stress

Got 5 minutes? Then, you have time for a healthy breakfast! That’s right, it takes no more than 5 minutes to make the perfect bowl of oats in the microwave!

I love oatmeal because it’s a whole grain, a healthy carb, and a super filling breakfast to enjoy in the morning or for Suhoor.

First, place 1/2 cup rolled oats and 1 cup low fat milk into a microwave-safe bowl. Then, mix.

Next, place the bowl into the microwave and cook on high for 90 seconds. Remove from microwave and stir. If you are using rolled oats, place back into the microwave for another 90 seconds or until the oatmeal is cooked to your desired tenderness.

Finally, you never want to eat oatmeal without some toppings! Here are one of my favorite combo: 1/2 🍐or 🍌, 1 tsp chopped almonds, 1 tbsp dried raisins

1 bowl 🥣 = 370 kcal, 18g protein

Trail mixes provide a delicious and healthy way to satisfy our craving. Filled with lots of vitamins, ingredients in a trail mix can help with heart disease and lower cholesterol levels.🌰🥜

The nutritional value will vary by the ingredients in your trail mix. Nuts and seeds have natural protein. They provide a source of fiber as well. Filled with Omega 3, nuts are a preferred ingredient in an assorted trail mix blend. By adding dried fruit to your trail mix, it can provide that extra punch of flavor, healthy sugar, and give added nutrition that fruits provide.

When you’re suffering from low blood sugar, in between meals, want to get some energy after a hike or during a road trip or just looking for something to snack on at work or home, trail mixes are a great choice. They are fun, economical, easy and healthy. 😋😋

My favourite mix is 4 halves walnuts + 2 dried figs + 2tbsp dried raisins. This snack gives me enough energy at work for only 165 Kcal

Just be aware of quantities for caloric intake & enjoy!!✌️🤩

Whether you like to get your workout in first thing or tend to hit the gym after the day is done, chances are that you’re not thinking too much about pre-workout nutrition. But that’s a mistake. If you want your body to perform at its best, it’s going to need fuel.

Have a slice of whole wheat bread with a spoonful of peanut or almond butter for an excellent combination of both carbs and protein before your workout. The carbohydrates will give you energy while protein helps muscle growth. 💪💪

⚠️Add fruits & a tsp of honey for extra flavors🍌🍯. Go for nut butters that list only “peanuts” or “almonds” on the jar to avoid unnecessary sugars and oils.

I am always looking for healthy low sugar snacks to eat with my coffee at work. Dark-chocolate-covered nuts is always my first choice ☕️🌰

To prepare 36 pcs, i mix:
🔸200 g melted 80% dark chocolate
🔹200 g roasted peanuts
🔸2 tbsp dried raisins

⚠️ 1pc=62 kcal, 2g protein, 5g fat

They are nutritious, full of protein, healthy fat & low in sugar that keep me energized and productive at the office🤓😋

If you’ve never had overnight oatmeal, they’re basically a no-cook method of making oatmeal. This easy overnight oats recipe is a healthy simple breakfast that you can make ahead for busy mornings and customize with many add-ins and toppings!

All you have to do:
1. Mix 1/2 cup low fat milk of your choice, 1/2 cup rolled oats & 4 halves walnuts🥣
2. Add a pinch of salt, stir well, cover & put in the fridge for minumum of 4h
3. In the morning, add some dried fruits & any fruit of your choice (banana, strawberries or berries)🍓🍌

Overnight oatmeal breakfast = serves 1, 340 kcal, 11g protein 😋😋

❗️optional: 1 tbsp peanut butter for extra 95 kcal & 4g protein
❗️For vegan or lactose intolerant, use almond or soy milk

Best of all, you reap all the healthy benefits of oats in a fun grab-and-go breakfast:
♦️They contain more protein than most grains (5g per serving).
♦️They’re a rich source of fiber, which helps you feel fuller longer (4g per serving).
♦️They’re high in antioxidants which may help lower blood pressure levels.

When people find out I’m a dietitian, they automatically assume I’m a health nut, and super strict on what I eat. I tell them that I eat really healthy meals, but when it comes to dessert I eat whatever type of dessert I want, I eat the good stuff! I don’t eat dessert very often, but when I do I make sure it’s amazing!😋😋

Overall, if you are craving one cookie, go ahead and eat one cookie, whatever type of cookie you want. And make sure to eat slowly and enjoy it! Because life is better if you satisfy your cravings instead of eating 10 other things to distract you from a cookie.

Plus, one cookie isn’t going to ruin your diet. All foods can fit in a healthy diet, it’s all about moderation, balance, and portion sizes.🍪🍪

Happiness in a cup😋🤩

This low calorie homemade hot chocolate makes the perfect guilt-free indulgence for a cold winter day!

Compared to Starbucks hot chocolate with whipped cream, it contains:
🔻Sugar: 5g instead of 27g
🔻 Calories: 130kcal instead of 270kcal for which 110kcal from fat

In case you missed it, all you have to do is:
🔅Microwave 1 cup low fat milk for 1.5 min
🔅Add 2 tsp unsweetened cocoa powder & 1 tsp sugar (or any artificial sweetener)
🔅Stir & microwave again for 1 min

Instead of using the standard packet mix, you can easily make your own hot chocolate mix for less money & fewer calories!☕

This makes a great low-calorie dessert or treat to enjoy when it's cold outside. 🥶

A cup of this rich & creamy hot chocolate only has 130kcal (-20kcal when using artificial sweetener)
