Alzahraa Medical Center (AMC), owned by the Alawite Islamic Charity Association (AICA) is a primary health care center (PHCC) located in Jabal Mohsen - Tripoli. AMC receives patients without any discrimination in gender, color, race or religion. The center was established on the 23rd of November 2008 after the sad incidents that hit Jabal Mohsen due to the struggle between the political parties, 8 & 14 of March in Lebanon which lead to 11 martyrs from the Alawite Islamic sect side due to the absence of hospitals in the area. The center was established through direct financial support from late Alawite Islamic Charity Association president Mr. Ali Eid

The center receives more then 7,000 patients per month from all Tripoli areas. The center provides the following services:

The center has contracts with Lebanese Ministry of Health, YMCA & PU-AMI

The center is now offering free treatments in cooperation with PU-AMI

The center opens Monday to Saturday from 8:00 AM till 8:00 PM

Alzahraa Medical Center Organizes a Free Health Day in Jabal Mohsen Park

Alzahraa Medical Center, through its Mobile Clinic, organized a free health day at Jabal Mohsen Park on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
The event included free medical consultations and nursing services, in addition to consultations with a general practitioner, a licensed midwife, and a nutritionist. Free medications were also distributed to visitors.

This initiative is part of a wider project that provides comprehensive medical examinations and free medications to displaced Syrian families in northern Lebanon, particularly those living in shelters across the city of Tripoli.

Under the slogan “Because Your Health Matters,” and as part of the Mobile Clinic Project, children’s packages were distributed to forcibly displaced Syrian families in Northern Lebanon.

This project includes comprehensive medical examinations and the provision of free medication to forcibly displaced Syrian families residing in shelter centers across the city of Tripoli, Northern Lebanon.

A delegation from the Alawite Islamic Charity Association visited His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Rakan Nasreddine. The delegation included Sheikh Ali Assi, Head of the Religious Affairs Department; Mr. Youssef Awli, Director of Alzahraa Medical Center - مركز الزهراء الطبي ; and Mr. Mouhamad Hussein, Head of Nursing.

During the meeting, the Minister was introduced to the Association and its affiliated institutions, with a detailed presentation on the healthcare and social services it provides. Discussions also explored avenues for future collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the Primary Healthcare Center, with the aim of strengthening the quality of health services provided to citizens.

The delegation also emphasized the urgent need to address the healthcare situation of forcibly displaced Syrians, stressing the importance of ensuring fair and dignified access to essential medical services for this vulnerable population.

Under the slogan "Because Your Health Matters," doctors and nurses from Alzahraa Medical Center are visiting the shelters (Imam Al-Hasan Al-Mujtaba Hall – Hafiz Diab Shelter – Imam Ali Mosque – Daryai Shops – Ali Abdul Khaleq Shelter – Alisha Shelter) through the mobile clinic project.

Medical services, required vaccinations, and awareness sessions on the importance of vaccines in protecting against diseases are being provided.

This project includes conducting comprehensive medical examinations and providing free medication to forcibly displaced Syrian families in northern Lebanon, at the shelter centers in the city of Tripoli.
