#தமிழ்மருத்துவமாம்சித்தமருத்துவமேஉலகின்மூத்தமருத்துவம்.
தமிழர்கள் காலத்தால் முற்பட்டவர்கள் என்பதற்கு ஆதிச்சநல்லூர், கீழடி, கொடுமணல் போன்ற இடங்களில் நடத்தப்பட்ட அகழ்வாராய்ச்சிகள், அங்கு கிடைத்த பொருட்கள் சான்றாக உள்ளது. அங்கே கிடைத்த பல விதமான சான்றுகளில் மருத்துவக் கருவிகளும் கிடைத்துள்ளன.
தஞ்சை தமிழ்ப் பல்கலைக் கழகத்தின் கூற்றுப்படி தமிழகத்தில் கிடைத்த பானை ஓடுகளிலும், இறந்தவர்களுக்காக எடுக்கப்பட்ட நடுகற்களிலும் எழுதப்பட்டவை, 'தமிழி' எனப்படும் 'தமிழ்-பிராமி' எழுத்துகள் ஆகும்.
கொடுமணல் மற்றும் பொருந்தல் அகழாய்வுகளில் கிடைத்த தமிழி எழுத்துகள் கி.மு. 500 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முற்பட்டவை என அறிவியல் காலக் கணிப்பு முறையில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
ஆதிச்சநல்லூர் அகழ்வாராய்ச்சியில் கிடைத்த பொருட்களின் கார்பன் பரிசோதனை முடிவுகள், அந்தப் பொருள்கள் சுமார் 3,000 ஆண்டுகள் பழமையானவை என்று காட்டுகின்றன
வைகை நதியின் தென்கரையில் உள்ள கீழடியில் நடைபெற்று வரும் அகழாய்வில், கி.மு 3ஆம் நூற்றாண்டு முதல் கி.பி 3ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்த தொல்லியல் எச்சங்கள் கிடைக்கப் பெற்றுள்ளன. இவற்றுள் பல்வகையான கல்மணிகள், சங்கு வளையல்கள், அம்மி, குழவி, இரும்பு, செப்பு பொருட்கள் போன்றவை அடங்கும்.
இதுவரை கிடைக்கப்பெற்ற தரவுகளின்படி, 3000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பே நகர வாழ்க்கை (அதே கால கட்டத்தில் வேறு நாகரிகங்களில் நாடோடி வாழ்க்கை தான் இருந்தது) வாழ்ந்த தமிழர்களுக்கென்று ஒரு முழுமையான மருத்துவ முறை இருந்திருக்க வேண்டும் என்பது துணிபு.
மேற்கண்ட அகழ்வாராய்ச்சிகளில் கிட்டிய மருந்துக் கருவிகளான உலோக பாண்டங்கள், அரைப்பு கருவிகள், தாமிரத்தாலான கண் மை தீட்டும் கம்பி போன்றவை தமிழ் மருத்துவத்தின் அடையாளங்களாக உள்ளது.
தமிழ் மரபில் உருவாகி பயிலப்பட்டு காலத்தாலும், அந்நிய படையெடுப்புகளாலும் சிதையுண்டிருக்கும் நம் சித்த மருத்துவம் தமிழ் மொழி போன்றே மிகப் பழமையானது என்று நிறுவுவதில் பிழையிருக்க முடியாது. எனவே தமிழ் மருத்துவமாகிய சித்த மருத்துவமே உலகின் மூத்த மருத்துவ முறை என்று பெருமை கொள்வோம்...

The Antiquity of Tamil tradition is well proven by the artifacts obtained from the excavation of Adichanallur, Keezhadi and Kodumanal.
Along with the artefacts, Medicinal things that are found as a objective evidence of the existence of complete medical system in that era.
According to Thanjai Tamil University the Script found in the earthen vessels and memorial stones for deceased are ‘Thamizhi’ it is Thamil-Brahmi script, which dates back 500 BC.
According to the carbon dating, materials from Adichanallur excavation were found as 3000 years ethnic from now.
The existence of an ancient Tamil civilization that thrived on the banks of Vaigai river in Keezhadi village is visible through the civilization and artifacts found there and it dates between 3rd century BC and 3rd century AD. They are precious and semi precious stones, conch bangles, grinding stone, Iron and copper vessels.
The available evidences suggest that the civilization of Tamil culture dates back 3000 years as of now (In the same era, the other continent people were barbarians).
So, the extensiveness of the civilization certifies that the presence of medical system for their usage. The medicinal artifacts such as metallic vessels, mortar and copper rod for application of eye medicines are considered to be the residues of Tamil medicine.
The Siddha Medicine is as ancient as Tamil language. The invasion of other Medicinal Systems and cultural mix, shifts the Siddha medicinal usage from the ethnic people itself. To reinstate our Siddha system, it is high time to join hands with our Tamil language and culture.
