Dynawash granted a patent for t-hues natural dye product by the Indian Patent Office

Dynawash Limited, a leading garment dyeing and washing facility in Sri Lanka, is thrilled to announce that it has been granted a patent for its innovative t-hues natural tea dye product by the Indian Patent Office. This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone in the company's journey towards revolutionizing the textile industry with sustainable and eco-friendly dyeing solutions.

t-hues is a groundbreaking natural dye product meticulously crafted from tea waste generated during Ceytea, Unilever's instant tea manufacturing plant at Agarapathana, Sri Lanka. This transformative approach not only redefines textile dyeing with a sustainable resource but also diverts valuable waste from landfills, contributing to a more circular economy. This is a 3 year collaborative project between Dynawash, Unilever and SLINTEC.

t-hues is derived entirely from natural sources, ensuring its safety for both humans and the planet. This commitment to sustainability aligns perfectly with Dynawash Limited's core values, positioning the company as a frontrunner in the pursuit of environmentally responsible garment Dyeing practices.

The patent grant, valid for the next 20 years, provides Dynawash Limited with exclusive rights to manufacture and sell the t-hues natural tea dye product within India. This protection empowers the company to further expand its reach and establish itself as a pioneer in the Indian natural dye market.

Dynawash Certified for Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

Dynawash is proud to be certified in Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) allowing the company to wash & dye GOTS certified organic-cotton products.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the world's leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibers. GOTS certification covers the entire organic textiles supply chain, from the harvesting of the raw materials to the processing, manufacturing, packaging, labeling, and distribution of the final product. This ensures that all GOTS-certified products meet the same high standards of environmental and social responsibility.

GOTS certification is a rigorous process that requires annual audits by independent certification bodies. This ensures that GOTS-certified products meet the highest standards of quality and integrity. GOTS is a stringent, voluntary international standard for the processing of organic, fiber-containing products and addresses post-harvest processing stages, such as spinning, knitting, weaving, dyeing and manufacturing. It includes both environmental and social provisions for post-farm to retail-shelf management. Key provisions include a ban on the use of child labor, genetic engineering, heavy metals and highly hazardous chemicals such as formaldehyde, while requiring living wages and strict wastewater treatment
practices.

For consumers, GOTS certification provides assurance that the textile products they purchase are made with organic fibers and produced in a responsible manner. GOTS certified products are also typically of higher
quality and durability than non-certified products.
