Child, Adolescent and Family Services A service specially dedicated in order provide support and assistance for children, adolescents and

CAF Services is an initiative launched by THEME institute which aims to provide comprehensive psychological support for children and adolescents who suffer from various mental health conditions ranging from behavioral problems to developmental disorders. At present Sri Lanka does not have many centers dedicated to child mental health and even those that are available tend to focus more on psychiatry rather than psychology. We at CAFS hope to promote awareness on child and adolescent mental health, conduct necessary assessments and provide tailor made interventions. Furthermore,we plan on organizing specialized workshops and initiate parent support forums in order to create a platform for parents and caregivers of children where they can get together and share their stories and seek help and support from one another. We at THEME further engage in carrying out multi- disciplinary research in the areas of Technology, Health, Environment, Migration Ethics and Education order to identify the needs and create tangible, people-oriented policy drive to address current
and future challenges in these core thematic areas while promoting mental health in general and Child Mental health in particular. For inquiries write to us on cafslanka@gmail.com or whatsapp on +94 76 406 7004

Today we bid farewell to our last cohort of interns for 2025 ✨ Needless to say, these girls have left a mark in all of our hearts! Three months of pure joy seeing them grow from where they were to where they are today, passionate to learn, eager to give back, curiosity to ask questions, and most of all, empathatic to work with the different communities we engage with…
It’s always refreshing to see budding psychologists, giving their best shot at gaining the maximum out of the experience we’ve thoughtfully curated for them!

Wishing you all the best, girls! Go shine bright ✨

Our founder Dr. Giselle attended a collaborative design workshop earlier last week hosted by CAMHRA, UK, exploring what counts as impact in global mental health, asking critical questions about what it means to be or become a peer, the role of AI in data processing, how learning itself might be recognised as impact, and what a peer-to-peer evaluation model could look like in practice.

Looking forward for some exciting new impactful projects in the coming months!

World Su***de Prevention Day reminds us of something we see every day in our work—many reach out for support when they’re struggling, but stigma still keeps them from receiving the care they truly need. Silence and shame only make recovery harder.

Each of us has a role to play. As family, friends, colleagues, and as a society, we can listen with compassion, create safe spaces, and choose language that heals instead of harms.

✨ Let’s not keep these conversations limited to one day a year. Su***de prevention begins with everyday kindness, awareness, and support.

Therapy isn’t just about working through your struggles — it’s also about discovering new parts of yourself, making connections, and growing with others.

In one of the sessions took place today, a client used a self-discovery card deck and invited a few members of our team to join in. What followed was a moment of openness, shared insight, and deep reflection — reminding us that healing happens not just in isolation, but in community too.

Sometimes the most meaningful progress is found in honest conversations, gentle curiosity, and the courage to explore — together.

A few snaps from earlier today, our Founding Director Dr. Giselle Dass at a Roundtable on Digital Mental Health in Sri Lanka, cohosted by the Prime Minister’s Office of Sri Lanka and the eMental Health International Collaborative (eMHIC).

The roundtable focused on digital mental health strategy and implementation, and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in mental health, and discussions to achieve the several objectives in the Digital Mental Health service scope in Sri Lanka.

Exciting to see many professionals getting together in a collaborative capacity to discuss strategies to better provide services for those in need, in the months; years to come.

End of a month but it’s not the end of another campaign… This month, be the one who asks.
Be the friend who listens.
Be the brother who understands.

Because when you say, * ?* you’re opening a door that could save a life.
