ACMOA has formally requested the Ministry of Health to revise the fuel quota allocated to doctors.
Many medical officers travel long distances daily to provide essential healthcare services, especially in rural areas. The current allocation is insufficient to meet these needs.
We have proposed either increasing the fuel allowance or introducing a distance-based allocation system to ensure fairness and continuity of healthcare services.

ACMOA calls for digital HR reforms at the Ministry of Health
The All Ceylon Medical Officers’ Association has officially requested the Ministry of Health to:
• Implement the existing HRMIS for doctors’ grade promotions and salary increments
• Address technical gaps to ensure smooth digital processing
• Initiate digital personal files for all medical officers
ACMOA remains committed to supporting meaningful digital transformation in the health sector.

To protect patients and maintain public trust, ACMOA urges immediate system-level action: complete scientifically validated investigations before conclusions are drawn, strengthen post-marketing surveillance with batch-wise testing of injectable medicines, urgently upgrade medicine-testing laboratories to internationally accredited standards, ensure rapid ward-level safety communication, and expand the Swastha system to all clinical areas. Responsible public communication is essential. We remain committed to patient safety and evidence-based regulation.

Post-Disaster Health & Social Protection – ACMOA’s Call for Urgent Action

The All Ceylon Medical Officers’ Association (ACMOA) has officially communicated with the Ministry of Health highlighting critical health, mental well-being, child protection, women’s safety, continuity of medical care, and education concerns faced by communities affected by recent disasters.

ACMOA has proposed practical, immediate, and long-term measures, including strengthening medical services in safe shelters, ensuring mental health support, protecting children and women from abuse, maintaining uninterrupted care for patients with chronic illnesses, and facilitating the continuation of children’s education.

We call for prompt, coordinated action by all relevant authorities and reaffirm ACMOA’s full support to protect lives, dignity, and the future of disaster-affected communities across Sri Lanka.
