My father Dt.L.G.S.Siriwardana - completed a two-year full-time course in Dental Technology at the University of Peradeniya and served full-time as a Dental Technologist in the Sri Lanka Navy from 1958 until his retirement in 1981. (It should be noted that he was the only qualified Dental Technologist in the Sri Lanka Navy for a few years during 1958. For that reason, he was in charge of both the Welisara and Trincomalee camps. He was chaired by Professor Dr. Bamaradeniya and Rear Admiral Dr. Arith Peiris.) He was a very handsome man. In fact, he was like an actor. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1997.
He has also established private dental laboratories in Kegalle and Gampaha in front of the hospital since 1976. He is a highly skilled dental technologist who has contributed to the oral health of thousands of patients. https://www.dentaltechnologists.lk/articles/dilicia-dental-laboratory
