Secda  Special School SeCDA is a special needs education center in Hemmathagama, Sri Lanka, serving 25 children with Autism, Down’s Syndrome, ADHD etc.

Founded in 2001, our dedicated team provides compassionate, individualized care, sustained by the generosity of our donors. SeCDA, founded in 2001, is a nurturing center in Hemmathagama, Sri Lanka, dedicated to supporting children with special needs. We currently serve 25 students with conditions such as Autism, Down’s Syndrome, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, and learning disabilities. Our mission is to empower each child with personalized educational programs that cater to their unique abilities and challenges. Our team of 9 skilled staff members, including experienced special needs educators, is passionate about fostering growth, independence, and self-confidence in every child. We believe in creating an inclusive, compassionate learning environment where each child can thrive at their own pace. SeCDA operates entirely through the kind donations of our supporters, ensuring that we can continue providing vital services to children and their families. With the ongoing generosity of our community, we aim to make a lasting impact on the lives of these remarkable students.

Our visiting physiotherapist provides treatment to one of our special needs students, Ashfan, using an Infrared Lamp. As an organization, we require various essential equipment to facilitate such therapies effectively. If we can fully acquire these resources, we will be able to witness significant positive transformations in our students.

எமது வருகைதரு physiotherapist அவர்களால் மாணவன் அஷ்பான் அவர்களுக்கு Infrared Lamp மூலம் சிகிச்சையளிக்கின்றார். எமது நிறுவனத்தை பொறுத்த வகையில் இவ்வாறான சேவையின்போது பல பெறுமதியான உபகரணங்கள் தேவைப்படுகின்றது. அவை பூரணமாக நாம் கிடைக்கப்பெறுமாயின் மாணவர்களிடம் பல பாரிய மாற்றங்களை காணலாம்.

අපගේ ආගන්තුක ෆිසිඔතෙරපි වෛද්‍යවරයා අපගේ විශේෂ අවශ්‍යතා ඇති සිසුවෙකු වන අෂ්ෆාන්ට Infrared Lamp භාවිතයෙන් ප්‍රතිකාර ලබා දෙයි. අපගේ ආයතනය සඳහා මෙවැනි ප්‍රතිකාර සාර්ථකව සිදු කිරීමට අත්‍යවශ්‍ය උපකරණ කිහිපයක් අවශ්‍ය වේ. එම පහසුකම් සම්පූර්ණයෙන් ලබාගත හැකි නම්, අපගේ සිසුන් තුළ සැලකිය යුතු ධනාත්මක වෙනස්කම් දැකිය හැක.

We are dedicated to providing excellent physiotherapy exercises and guidance for our students. Each student is carefully observed and assessed to determine their individual needs. We then train the teachers to carry out the necessary exercises and provide ongoing support to ensure they are effectively implemented with the students.

In addition, we offer personalized guidance and advice to the parents of specific students, tailored to their needs. To further support our community, we organize a general physiotherapy meeting approximately once every six months, where we share updates and insights.

எமது மாணவர்களுக்கு தேவையான physiotherapy பயிற்சியும் வழிகாட்டலும் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்று வருகின்றது. ஒவ்வொரு மாணவர்களையும் அவதானித்து பரிசீலித்து அவர்களுக்கு தேவையான பயிற்சிகளை ஆசிரியர்களுக்கு கற்றுக்கொடுப்பதோடு அவற்றை மாணவர்களுக்கு செயற்படுத்துவதற்கும் வழிகாட்டுகின்றோம்.

அதே போல குறிப்பிட்ட மாணவர்களின் பெற்றாருக்கு தேவையான வழிகாட்டல்கள் மற்றும் ஆலோசனைகளை தேவைக்கேற்றாற்போல் வாங்குகின்றோம். அத்தோடு சேர்த்து கிட்டத்தட்ட ஆறு மாதங்களுக்கு ஒரு முறையேனும் physiotherapy சம்பந்தமான பொதுக்கூட்டம் ஒன்றையும் ஏற்பாடு செய்து வருகின்றோம்.

අපගේ සිසුන් සඳහා විශිෂ්ට භෞත චිකිත්සක අභ්‍යාස සහ මාර්ගෝපදේශ සැපයීමට අපි කැපවී සිටිමු. සෑම ශිෂ්‍යයෙකුම සිය පුද්ගලික අවශ්‍යතා තීරණය කිරීම සඳහා හොඳින් නිරීක්ෂණය කර තක්සේරු කරනු ලැබේ. පසුව අපි අවශ්‍ය අභ්‍යාස සිදු කිරීමට ගුරුවරුන් පුහුණු කරන අතර ඒවා සිසුන් සමඟ ඵලදායි ලෙස ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීම සහතික කිරීම සඳහා අඛණ්ඩ සහාය ලබා දෙන්නෙමු.

ඊට අමතරව, අපි නිශ්චිත සිසුන්ගේ දෙමාපියන්ට ඔවුන්ගේ අවශ්‍යතාවලට ගැලපෙන පරිදි පුද්ගලාරෝපිත මාර්ගෝපදේශ සහ උපදෙස් ලබා දෙන්නෙමු. අපගේ ප්‍රජාවට තවදුරටත් සහාය වීම සඳහා, අපි දළ වශයෙන් සෑම මාස හයකට වරක් සාමාන්‍ය භෞත චිකිත්සක රැස්වීමක් සංවිධානය කරමු.

In the field of special needs education, the environment plays a crucial role. It can be in the form of the subjects being taught or the tools required for teaching activities. Therefore, it is common practice to utilize the materials and resources available in the environment to support the educational activities of our students.

One of our students, Ahmed, can be seen engaging in a fine motor activity using rosary peas. In our school, such materials are frequently used in special needs education.

விஷேட கல்வித்துறையை பொறுத்த வகையில் சூழலின் வகிபங்கு பிரதானமானது. இது மாணவர்களுக்கு கற்பிக்கப்படும் பாடவிதானங்களாகவோ, கற்பித்தல் செயற்பாட்டிற்கு தேவையான கற்பித்தல் உபகாரணங்களாகவோ இருக்கலாம். எனவே நாம் இயலுமான வரையில் சூழலில் கிடைக்கும் பொருட்கள் மற்றும் சாதனங்களை எமது மாணவர்களின் கல்வி நடவடிக்கைகறளுக்கு உபயோக்கப்படுத்தி வருகின்றோம்.

இங்கு, எமது மாணவர்களுள் ஒருவரான அஹ்மத், குண்டுமணிகளைக்கொண்டு நுண்ணியக்க செயற்பாட்டில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளதைக் காணலாம். எமது பாடசாலையில் இவ்வாறான பொருட்கள் அதிகம் பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன.

විශේෂ අවශ්‍යතා අධ්‍යාපන ක්ෂේත්‍රය තුළ පරිසරය තීරණාත්මක කාර්යභාරයක් ඉටු කරයි. මෙයට උගන්වනු ලබන විෂයයන් හෝ ඉගැන්වීමේ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් සඳහා අවශ්‍ය මෙවලම් ඇතුළත් විය හැක. එබැවින් පරිසරයේ ඇති ද්‍රව්‍ය හා සම්පත් අපගේ සිසුන්ගේ අධ්‍යාපන කටයුතු සඳහා යොදා ගැනීම සාමාන්‍ය සිරිතකි.

අපගේ ශිෂ්‍යයෙකු වන අහමඩ් ඔලිඳ ඇට භාවිතයෙන් සියුම් මෝටර් ක්‍රියාකාරකම්වල නිරත වන අයුරු දැකගත හැකිය. අපේ පාසලේ, විශේෂ අවශ්‍යතා අධ්‍යාපනය සඳහා එවැනි ද්‍රව්‍ය නිතර භාවිතා වේ.

For over a year, our special needs student Muadh has been following direct school education alongside his personalized curriculum. Currently, he is actively engaged in learning Mathematics and Tamil language subjects, under the close guidance of his teacher.

கடந்த ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு மேலாக, மாணவன் முஆத்தின் தனிப்பட்ட கல்வித்திட்டத்துடன் நேரடி பாடசாலைக் கல்வியும் இணைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. தற்போது, அவர் ஆசிரியரின் நேரடி வழிகாட்டுதலின் கீழ் கணிதம் மற்றும் தமிழ்மொழிசார் பாடங்களைக் கற்பதில் ஈடுபட்டு வருகின்றார்.

Abrar is the first student of our special school. Now 26 years old, he has been receiving special education for a long time and has fully embarked on vocational training only in the past couple of years.

His remarkable progress is a testament to Allah's grace and the invaluable contributions of our teachers. With unwavering dedication, selflessness, love, and care, these teachers have played a pivotal role in his development. We pray to Allah to bless them with success and prosperity in both this world and the hereafter.

அப்ரார் எமது விசேட பாடசாலையின் முதல் மாணவராவார். 26 வயதை அடைந்துள்ள இவர் நீண்ட காலமாக விசேட கல்வியை பெற்று வந்ததுடன், கடந்த ஓரிரு வருடங்களாகத்தான் முழுமையாக தொழில் பயிற்சி பெற்று வருகின்றார்.

இவரின் திருப்திகரமான முன்னேற்றத்தில் அல்லாஹ்வின் உதவியும், எமது ஆசிரியர்களின் பங்களிப்பும் அளப்பரியது. மிகவும் சேவை மனப்பான்மையுடன் முற்று முழுதாக தியாகம், அன்பு, அரவணைப்புடன் பணி புரியும் இவ்வாசிரியர்கள் ஈருலகிலும் சிறப்பாக வாழ்ந்திட வல்ல அல்லாஹ்வை பிரார்த்திக்கின்றோம்.

අබ්රාර් අපේ විශේෂ පාසලේ පළමු ශිෂ්‍යයා වේ. මේ වන විට 26 හැවිරිදි වියේ පසුවන ඔහු දිගු කලක් විශේෂ අධ්‍යාපනය ලබමින් සිටින අතර වෘත්තීය පුහුණුව සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම ආරම්භ කර ඇත්තේ පසුගිය වසර දෙක තුළ පමණි.

ඔහුගේ සාර්ථක ප්‍රගතිය, අල්ලාහ්ගේ කරුණාව සහ අපගේ ගුරුවරුන්ගේ අමිල දායකත්වය පිළිබඳ සාක්ෂියකි. නොසැලෙන කැපවීමෙන්, පරාර්ථකාමීත්වයෙන්, ආදරයෙන්, සැලකිල්ලෙන් මේ ගුරුවරු ඔහුගේ දියුණුවට ප්‍රධාන කාර්යභාරයක් ඉටු කළහ. ඔවුන්ට දෙඅංශයේම සාර්ථකත්වය ලබා දෙන ලෙස අපි අල්ලාහ්ගෙන් ප්‍රාර්ථනා කරමු.

By the grace of Almighty, the vocational training initiative started based on the talents of these two students is progressing excellently. They are fully engaged with great enthusiasm and dedication. These students have been attending our school from a young age, and the continuous guidance they have received has played a vital role in their growth and skill development.

However, it is unfortunate that many students with such talents, despite being trained through persistent efforts from various people, often lack sufficient opportunities to showcase their abilities when the time comes to step into society. This is a regrettable situation. Even in our own region, where our organization has been functioning for the past 24 years, students like these are unable to express their potential and advance to the next level due to a lack of recognition and support. This remains a matter of concern.

இறைவனின் அருளால், இவ்விரு மாணவர்களின் திறமைகளைக் கருத்திற் கொண்டு ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்ட தொழில் பயிற்சி செயற்பாடு சிறப்பாக முன்னேறி வருகின்றது. அவர்கள் பூரண விருப்பத்துடனும், ஆர்வத்துடனும் இதில் ஈடுபட்டு வருகின்றனர். இவ்விரு மாணவர்களும் சிறு வயதிலிருந்தே எமது பாடசாலைக்கு வருகை தருவதுடன், தொடர்ந்தேர்ச்சியான வழிகாட்டலைப் பெற்றுக் கொள்வது அவர்களது வளர்ச்சிக்கும் திறன் மேம்பாட்டிற்கும் உறுதுணையாக அமைந்துள்ளது.

ஆயினும், இவ்வாறான திறமைகளைக் கொண்ட மாணவர்கள் பல தரப்பட்டோரின் இடை விடாத முயற்சிகள் மூலம் பயிற்றுவிக்கப்பட்டு சமூகத்தில் அடியெடுத்து வைக்கும் தருணத்தில், அவர்களின் திறன்களை வெளிப்படுத்துவதற்கு பொருத்தமான வாய்ப்புகள் போதியளவு இல்லாதிருப்பது மிகவும் துரதிஷ்டவசமான ஒரு நிலைமையே. 24 ஆண்டுகளாக தொடர்ந்து செயல்பட்டு வரும் எமது நிறுவனம் அமைந்துள்ள பிரதேசத்தில் கூட இத்தகைய மாணவர்கள் தன்னுள்ளிருக்கும் திறமைகளை வெளிப்படுத்தி, அடுத்தகட்டத்திற்கு முன்னேறுவதற்கு போதுமான அங்கீகாரமோ, ஆதரவோ கிடைக்காதது கவலைக்குரிய விடயமாகும்.

දෙවියන්ගේ පිහිටෙන් මේ දක්‍ෂ සිසුන් දෙදෙනාගේ වෘත්තීය පුහුණු වැඩසටහන ඉතා හොඳින් සිදුවෙමින් පවතී. ඔවුන් මහත් උනන්දුවකින් සහ කැපවීමකින් මේ සඳහා සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම සම්බන්ධ වී සිටිති. මේ සිසුන් දෙදෙනා කුඩා කල සිටම අපේ පාසලට පැමිණේ.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, බොහෝ සිසුන්ට දක්ෂතා තිබියදීත්, ඔවුන්ට තම දක්ෂතා සමාජය තුළ පෙන්වීමට අවස්ථා නොමැතිකම කණගාටුවට කරුණකි. අපගේ සංවිධානය වසර 24ක් තිස්සේ ක්‍රියාත්මක වන අප ප්‍රදේශයේ පවා ඔවුන් වැනි සිසුන්ට ඉදිරියට යාමට අවශ්‍ය පිළිගැනීම සහ සහයෝගය ලැබෙන්නේ කලාතුරකිනි.
