The Board of Study in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, PGIM, University of Colombo, collaborated with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Jaffna and conducted a study day for postgraduate trainees in obstetrics and Gynaecology. The event occurred over two days, on the 14th and 15th of March 2026, at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna.

This study day covered subfertility, Gyne-oncology and fetal medicine.

Thank you to all the department staff and board of study members for their excellent arrangements. I would like to extend my special thanks to DrMadhava Karunarathna , Prof Muhunthan Kopalasuntharam, DrThuvarathipan Rajendraseelan and Dr Thanuja for their immense support.

A workshop on Perinatal Mental Health and the launch of the Tamil translation book “அன்னையர் உளநலம்” were successfully conducted today by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in collaboration with RDHS Jaffna.
The book was officially launched by Dr. Singaravelu Kumaravel, Acting RDHS – Jaffna, followed by a workshop session conducted by Consultant Psychiatrist Dr. S. Sivathas and Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist Dr. S. Raguraman.
MOH, PHM, and other healthcare staff actively participated in the event.

சத்தான உணவு தரும் சந்தோசமான வாழ்க்கை

இவ்வாறான சூழலில், முன்கூட்டியே ஆரோக்கியமான வாழ்க்கை முறையை வழங்கி, உயிரியல் தேவைகளுக்கு ஏற்ற உடல் நிறையை பேணுவதன் மூலம் பல சிறந்த உடல் நல விளைவுகளைப் பெற முடியும். இதற்கான அடிப்படைத் தேவையாக ஆரோக்கியமான மற்றும் சத்தான உணவு அமைகிறது.
இந்த நோக்கத்தைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு, சத்தான மற்றும் ஆரோக்கியமான உணவுகளை வழங்கும் இந்த சிற்றுண்டிச்சாலை ஆரம்பிக்கப்படுகிறது. இங்கு உடல் நலத்திற்கேற்ற, ஊட்டச்சத்து நிறைந்த உணவுகள் தயாரித்து வழங்கப்படுகின்றன.
மேலும், இந்த முயற்சி அம்மா கழகத்தின் ஊடாக பெண்களுக்கு வேலை வாய்ப்பை உருவாக்கும் ஒரு முக்கியமான திட்டமாகும். இதில் பெண்கள் பணியாளர்களாக மட்டுமல்லாது, பங்காளர்களாகவும் இணைக்கப்படுகின்றனர். தேவையுள்ள பெண்கள் தமக்கு வேண்டிய உணவுகளைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து, அவற்றை தயாரித்து பழகும் வாய்ப்பையும் இது வழங்குகிறது.
இந்த சிற்றுண்டிச்சாலை யாழ்ப்பாண போதனா வைத்தியசாலையின் பெண்கள் சுகநல நிலையத்தின் கூட்டு முயற்சியாக திறந்து வைக்கப்படுகிறது.
