Swami Joythimayananda, Acharya (spiritual teacher) and Vaidya (Ayurvedic expert), is the founder and director of the Ashram Joytinat-International Yoga College of Ayurveda. Of Indian origin (Tamil Nadu, South India), was born June 3, 1941 in Ingirya (Sri Lanka). Since 1960, in search of truth, he leads the life of a beggar and ascetic, traveling for 10 years all over India, doing spiritual practic
es and hermitages with masters in Ashram Ayurvedic and nursing homes. Back in Sri Lanka, he performs his sadhana (spiritual practice) alone, in the jungle near Kataragama. It receives therapeutic systems used by Siddhas (healers) through the "Paramparawa" teaching (direct transmission from Master to pupil), a method developed in the course of centuries.
