Scheuermann's Disease/Scheuermann's kyphosis/ ඔටුකුදය/ කොදුඇට පෙළෙහි වක්‍රතාව වැඩිවීම

Scheuermann's Disease/ Scheuermann's kyphosis යනු :
මෙය වැඩිහිටියන් අතර මෙන්ම ළමුන් අතර දැකිය හැකි Kyphosis (ඔටුකුදය) ප්‍රභේද තුනෙන් එකකි.
කශේරුකාවේ ව්‍යුහමය ආබාධයක් නිසා කලාතුරකින් තරුණ කාලයේදී ඇති වන්නක් වන අතර ගැහැණු දරුවන්ට වඩා පිරිමි දරුවන් අතර බහුලවේ.

Kyphosis(ඔටු කුදය) නිසා ඇති වන සංකූලතා :
• ඇවිදීම, පුටුවක වාඩිවී නැගිටීම, වැතිරීම ආදිය වේදනා සහිත වීම.
• ශාරීරික ක්‍රියාකාරකම් අවම වීම හා ශරීරයේ පෙනුම වෙනස් වීම.
• ආහාර ජීර්ණ පද්ධතියේ ගැටලු ඇතිවීම.
• පෙනහළු පීඩනයට පත්වීමෙන් ශ්වසන ගැටලු ඇතිවීම.

Scheuermann's Disease (also known as Scheuermann's kyphosis) is a spinal condition that affects adolescents during their growth spurts, typically between ages 12–17.

Scheuermann's disease is a form of juvenile osteochondrosis of the spine. It causes the vertebrae to become wedge-shaped, leading to an excessive forward curvature of the upper back (thoracic kyphosis).

Key Features:
•A kyphotic curve > 45 degrees (normally 20–45°).
•Involves 3 or more adjacent vertebrae wedged by at least 5 degrees each.
•Most common in the thoracic spine, but may also affect the thoracolumbar region.
•Not flexible — differs from postural kyphosis, which can correct when lying down.

Symptoms:
•Poor posture (rounded shoulders, hunched back)
•Mid-back pain (especially during activity or long standing)
•Fatigue
•In severe cases: stiffness, cosmetic concerns, or mild breathing difficulty due to reduced lung expansion.

•PCOS යනු ප්‍රජනක වයසේ පසුවන කාන්තාවන්ගේ සෞඛ්‍යයේ යහපැවැත්ම සඳහා බලපානු ලබන, ශරීරයේ හෝමෝන අසමතුලිතතාවයේ ප්‍රතිඵලයක් ලෙස ඇතිවන බහුල රෝග තත්ත්වයකි.
