මැදින් පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනය යනු සාමාන්‍ය දින දර්ශනයට අනුව වර්ෂයේ තුන්වන පොහොය දිනය වන අතර චන්ද්‍ර මාස ක්‍රමයට අනුව මෙය වර්ෂයේ එකොළොස්වන පොහොය දිනයයි. අප මහා සිදුහත් බෝසතාණන් වහන්සේ බුද්ධත්වයට පත්වීමෙන් පසු ප්‍රථම වරට තම ජන්ම භූමිය වන කිඹුල්වත් පුරයට වැඩම කරන ලද්දේ මැදින් පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනයක බව ශාසන ඉතිහාසය පවසයි. ඒ අනුව මැදින් පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනයට සමගාමීව සිදුවූ අසිරිමත් සිදුවීම් කිහිපයක්ම ඇත. බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ සුද්ධෝදන පිය රජතුමා ඇතුළු නෑදෑ හිතමිත්‍රාදීන්ට ධර්මය දේශනා කිරීම, යශෝධරා දේවිය උදෙසා ඡන්ද කින්නර ජාතකය දේශනා කිරීම, රාහුල කුමරුන් සහ නන්ද කුමරුන් බුදු සසුනෙහි පැවිදි කරවීම හා මහා ප්‍රජාපති ගෝතමී දේවිය සෝවාන් ඵලයට පත්වීම යනාදී අසිරිමත් සිදුවීම් කිහිපයක්ම සිදුවී ඇත්තේ මැදින් පුර පසළොස්වක පොහොය දිනයක දීය.

මෙවන් ශාසනික වැදගත්කමින් පිරිපුන් මැදින් පුර පසළොස්වක පොහෝ දිනය ලෝකවාසී සියලුම බෞද්ධ සැදැහැවතුන්ට මෙත් සිසිලෙන් සිත සැනහෙන පින්බර පොහෝ දිනයක් වේවා...!

Medin Full Moon Poya Day is the third Poya day of the year according to the common calendar, and the eleventh Poya day according to the lunar calendar. According to the Buddhist history, it was on a Medin Full Moon Poya Day that our Great Bodhisathva visited his birthplace of Kapilavastu for the first time after attaining enlightenment. Moreover, there are many other significant events associated with this Poya day. Among these, the preaching of the Dhamma to King Suddhodana and his relatives, the delivery of the Chanda Kinnara Jataka in honor of Queen Yasodhara, the ordination of Prince Rahula and Prince Nanda into the Buddhist Order and the attainment of the stage of Sotapanna by Queen Mahaprajapathi Gothami are especially reversed as sacred events of this day.

May this Medin Full Moon Poya Day, filled with profound religious significance, bring peace, loving-kindness, and spiritual blessings to all devoted Buddhists around the world...!

மெடின் பூரண சந்திர பௌர்ணமி தினம் என்பது பொதுவான நாட்காட்டியின்படி ஆண்டின் மூன்றாவது பௌர்ணமி நாளாகும். ஆனால் சந்திர மாதக் கணக்குப்படி ஆண்டின் பதினொராவது பௌர்ணமி நாளாகும். பௌத்த வரலாறுப்படி, நமது மகா போதிசத்வர் புத்தருத்துவத்தை அடைந்த பிறகு முதன்முறையாக தனது பிறந்த ஊர் கபிலவஸ்துவை மெடின் பூரண சந்திர பெளர்ணமி நாளில் பார்வையிட்டார்.மேலும், இந்த பௌர்ணமி நாளில் சுதோதன ராஜாவுக்கும் அவரது உறவினருக்கும் தர்மத்தை போதித்தல், யசோதரா அரசியாரை கௌரவித்து சந்தா கின்னர ஜாதக கதை போதித்தல், ராகுல குமாரர் மற்றும் நந்த குமாரர்களை புத்தர் சாசனத்தில் ஒழுங்கமைத்து சுழற்சி செய்தல் மற்றும் மகா பிரஜாபதி கோதமி ராணி சோதபன்ன நிலையை அடைதல் போன்ற முக்கிய ஆன்மீக நிகழ்வுகளும் இடம்பெற்றன.

හෙට දිනය මුස්ලිම්වරුන්ගේ ශුද්ධ වූ රාමසාන් මාසයේ පළමු දිනයයි. එය ඉස්ලාමීය දින දර්ශනයේ නවවන මාසයයි. වඩාත්ම වැදගත් දෙය නම්, එය ඉස්ලාමයේ පූජනීය ග්‍රන්ථය වන ශුද්ධ වූ කුර්ආනය පහළ වූ මාසය වන අතර එය යහපත හා සමෘද්ධිය ගෙන දෙන මාසයක් ලෙස සැලකේ. තවද, වසරකට වරක් නිරීක්ෂණය කරනු ලබන මෙම උපවාසය ඉස්ලාමයේ අනිවාර්ය කුළුණු පහෙන් එකක් ලෙස සැලකේ.

අලුයම සිට හිරු බැස යන තෙක්, මුස්ලිම්වරු නිරාහාරව සිටියදී ආහාර පානවලින් වැළකී සිටිති. ඒ අනුව, හිරු උදාවට පෙර ගන්නා ආහාර වේල "සුහූර්" ලෙසත්, හිරු බැස යන විට උපවාසය අත්හැරීමට ගන්නා ආහාර වේල "ඉෆ්තාර්" ලෙසත් හැඳින්වේ.

වැඩිහිටි මුස්ලිම්වරුන් මෙම උපවාසය අනිවාර්යයෙන් පැවැත්විය යුතුය. කෙසේ වෙතත්, ගර්භනී කාන්තාවන්, කිරි දෙන මව්වරුන්, ඔසප් කාන්තාවන් සහ රෝගාතුර වූ පුද්ගලයින් විශේෂ තත්වයන් නිසා උපවාසයෙන් නිදහස් කර ඇත.

හෙටින් ආරම්භ වන රාමසාන් උපවාස සමයට කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද විද්‍යා පීඨයේ අපි ලෝකවාසී සියලුම මුස්ලිම් භක්තිකයන්ට ප්‍රීතිමත් රාමසාන් සමයකට ප්‍රාර්ථනා එක් කරන්නෙමු...!! 🌙

Tomorrow is the first day of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. It is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Most importantly, it is the month in which the Holy Quran, the sacred scripture of Islam, was revealed, and it is considered a month that brings goodness and prosperity. Furthermore, this fasting, which is observed once a year, is regarded as one of the five obligatory pillars of Islam.

From dawn until sunset, Muslims abstain from food and drinks while fasting. Accordingly, the meal consumed before sunrise is called “Suhur,” and the meal taken to break the fast at sunset is called “Iftar.”

Adult Muslims are required to observe this fast. However, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, menstruating women, and individuals who are ill are exempted from fasting due to special circumstances.

On the occasion of the commencement of the Ramadan fasting period starting tomorrow, the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo, extends heartfelt prayers wishing that this holy month of Ramadan brings happiness to all Muslim brothers and sisters living around the world…!! 🌙

முஸ்லிம்கள் மிகுந்த பக்தியுடன் அனுஷ்டிக்கும் ரமழான் மாதத்தின் ஆரம்ப நாள் நாளையாகும். இது இஸ்லாமிய நாட்காட்டியின் ஒன்பதாவது மாதமாகும். முக்கியமாக இது முஸ்லிம்களின் புனித வேதம் ஆகிய அல் குர்ஆன் இறக்கப்பட்ட மாதமும்,நன்மையும் செழிப்பும் அளிக்கும் மாதமுமாகும். மேலும், ஆண்டுக்கு ஒருமுறை அனுஷ்டிக்கப்படும் இந்த நோன்பு, இஸ்லாமிய மதத்தின் ஐந்து கட்டாயக் கடமைகளில் ஒன்றாகவும் கருதப்படுகிறது.
வைகறை உதயத்திலிருந்து சூரிய அஸ்தமனம் வரை முஸ்லிம்கள் உணவு மற்றும் பானங்கள் மட்டுமன்றி கோபம்,அகந்தை மற்றும் பேராசையையும் தவிர்த்திருக்க எதிர்பார்க்கப்படுகின்றனர். அதன்படி, சூரிய உதயத்திற்கு முன் உட்கொள்ளப்படும் உணவு “சஹர்” (Suhur) எனவும், நாளின் நோன்பு முடிவில் உட்கொள்ளப்படும் உணவு “இப்தார்” (Iftar) எனவும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
வயது வந்த முஸ்லிம்கள் இந்த நோன்பை கட்டாயமாக கடைப்பிடிக்க வேண்டும். எனினும் கர்ப்பிணிப் பெண்கள், பாலூட்டும் தாய்மார்கள்,மாதவிடாய் பெண்கள் மற்றும் நோயாளிகள் போன்ற சிறப்பு தேவைகள் உள்ளவர்கள் இந்த நோன்பிலிருந்து விலக்கு பெறுகின்றனர்.
நாளை ஆரம்பமாகும் ரமழான் நோன்பு காலத்தை முன்னிட்டு, கொழும்பு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் தாதியியல் பீடம் சார்பில் உலகமெங்கும் வாழும் அனைத்து முஸ்லிம் சகோதர, சகோதரிகளுக்கும் இந்த ரமழான் மாதம் இனியதாய் அமைய பிராத்திக்கிறோம்…!! 🌙

කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද පීඨ ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ මගපෙන්වීම යටතේ දමිළ සංස්කෘතියට අයත් තෛපෝංගල් උත්සවයේ සම්ප්‍රදායන් විදහා දැක්වූ මහා මංගල්‍යය "පොංගල් තිරුනාල් - 2026" 2021/2022 කණ්ඩායමේ සහෝදරත්වය විසින් 2026 වර්ෂයේ පෙබරවාරි මස 01 වන ඉරිදා දින පෙ.ව. 8.00 සිට හෙද පීඨ විවෘත ශ්‍රවණාගාර පරිශ්‍රයේ දී පැවත්විණ. එහිදී කැමරා කාචයට හසු වූ රූප රාමු පෙළක් මෙසේ දිග හැරෙන වගයි.

Under the guidance of the Students' Union of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo, the grand celebration, "Pongal Thirunaal - 2026", which showcased the traditions of the Thai Pongal festival belonging to Tamil culture, organized by the brotherhood of the 2021/2022 batch was held on Sunday, 1st of February 2026 from 8:00 a.m. onwards at the Open Auditorium of the faculty premises. கொழும்பு பல்கலைக்கழக தாதியியல் பீட மாணவர் சங்கத்தின் வழிகாட்டுதலின் கீழ் தமிழ் காலாச்சாரத்தை பிரதிபலிக்கும் முகமாக ஏற்ப்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டு இருந்த "பொங்கல் திருநாள் 2026" நிகழ்வானது தாதியியல் பீட வளாகத்தில் பெப்ரவரி 1ம் திகதி காலை 8 மணி அளவில் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டு சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்று முடிந்தது. அந்த நிகழ்வில் பிடிக்கப்பட்ட அழகிய தருணங்கள் இதோ.

ශිව දෙවියන් වෙනුවෙන් කැප කරනු ලබන උපවාස චාරිත්‍ර විධියක් ලෙස ලොව පුරා හින්දු බැතිමතුන් විසින් ඉමහත් භක්තියෙන් යුතුව මහා ශිව රාත්‍රී දිනය සමරනු ලබයි. වාර්ෂිකව මෙම උපවාසය පවත්වනු ලබන්නේ චන්ද්‍ර මාසයේ ක්‍රිෂ්ණ පක්ෂයේ දහ හතරවන දින රාත්‍රියේ දීය. සිත, කය සහ වචනය සංවරයෙන් යුතුව හින්දු භක්තිකයන් විසින් මෙම දිනයේ දී රාත්‍රිය පුරා නිදි වර්ජිතව උපවාසයේ යෙදී සිටිමින් ශිව දෙවියන් උදෙසා තම භක්තිය පුදකරනු ලබයි.

පුරාවෘත්තවලට අනුව මහා ශිව රාත්‍රී දිනයේ දී විශේෂ සිදුවීම් කීපයක් සිදු වී ඇත. එනම්,
🔸 ශිව දෙවියන්, මහා බ්‍රහ්මයන් හා විෂ්ණු දෙවියන් අතර ඇති වූ මතගැටුමේ ප්‍රතිඵලයක් ලෙස ලොව බලවත්ම දෙවිඳුන් ලෙස ශිව දෙවියන් පත්වීම.
🔸 ශිව ලිංගය ලොව පහළවීම.

සියලු ජීවිත ආධ්‍යාත්මික බලයෙන් සහ සතුටින් පිරී ඉතිරී යන ශිව දෙවිඳුන්ගේ ආශිර්වාදය පිරි සුභ මහා ශිව රාත්‍රී දිනයක් වේවා! 🕉️

Mahasivarathri is celebrated with great devotion by Hindu devotees all over the world. It is a sacred fasting ritual dedicated to Lord Shiva. This annual fast is held on the fourteenth night of Krishna Paksha in the lunar month. On this day, Hindu devotees practice self-discipline of mind, body, and speech, staying awake throughout the night while fasting and offering their prayers and devotion to Lord Shiva.
According to ancient legends, on the night of Mahasivarathri:
🔸 Lord Shiva emerged as the supreme deity following a dispute between Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu.
🔸 The manifestation of the Shiva Lingam on earth also took place.

May the divine blessings of Lord Shiva fill your life with spiritual strength, peace, and happiness. Wishing you a blessed and auspicious Mahasivarathri! 🕉️

"பிறப்பேழிலும் உயிர் எவையிலும் நன்றாய் சக்கரமேழிலும் சீர் ஒன்றாய் சிவனே!"

மகா சிவராத்திரி இந்துக்களால் அனுஷ்டிக்கப்படும் சிவனுக்குரிய விரதமாகும்.ஆண்டுதோறும் இந்த விரதம் மாசி மாதத்தின் கிருஷ்ண பட்ஷத்தின் பதினான்காம் நாள் இரவில் அனுஷ்டிக்கப்படுகிறது.
இந்த நாளில் மனம், வாக்கு, காயம் (உடல்) ஆகியவற்றை கட்டுப்பாட்டில் வைத்து, பக்தர்கள் இரவு முழுவதும் விழித்திருந்து உபவாசம் இருந்து சிவபெருமானை தியானித்து வழிபடுகின்றனர்.

புராணங்களின்படி மகா சிவராத்திரி நாளில்,
🔸 சிவபெருமானின் அடிமுடி காணா சோதிப்பிழம்பு (லிங்கோத்பவர்) தோன்றியது.
🔸சிவலிங்கம் பூமியில் தோன்றியது.
போன்ற நிகழ்வுகள் இடம்பெற்றதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.

කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද පීඨයෙහි අට වන සංවත්සරය වෙනුවෙන් සංවිධානය කරන ලද ගැබිනි මවුවරුන් දැනුවත් කිරීමේ වැඩසටහන හෝමාගම මහජන සෞඛ්‍ය සේවා නිලධාරී කාර්යාලයේ දී 2026 වර්ෂයේ ජනවාරි මස 10 වන දින අතිසාර්ථක අයුරින් පැවැත්විණි. එහිදී කැමරා කාචයෙහි සටහන් වූ රූප රාමු පෙළක් මෙසේ දිග හැරෙන වගයි.

"Gimanhala - an enchanting evening woven with love", is organized by the Arts Subcommittee, under the guidance of the Students’ Union of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo.

After patiently awaiting the passing hours, this much-anticipated evening will be held today, 10th of February, 2026, from 6.00 pm onwards, at the Magazine premises of the Faculty of Nursing, where it is lovingly dedicated to the hopeful hearts.

கொழும்பு பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் தாதியல் பீட மாணவர் சங்கத்தின் வழிகாட்டுதலின் கீழ், கலை மற்றும் இலக்கிய துணைக்குழுவின் தலைமையில் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்படும்
“கிமன்ஹல”- காதலின் ஆனந்தமிகு இனிய மாலை,
நாட்களை எண்ணி ஆவலுடன் காத்திருந்த அந்த நிமிடம் வந்து விட்டது!
2026 ஆம் ஆண்டு பெப்ரவரி 10 ஆம் திகதி, அதாவது இன்று மாலை 6.00 மணி முதல்,
தாதியல் பீட மகசின் வளாகத்தில், மாணவர் இதயங்களுக்கு காதலுடன் அர்ப்பணிக்கப்படும் ஒரு இனிய இசை விருந்து.

සීත දෙසැම්බරය සැරසූ
අරුමැසි නත්තලේ උණුහුමෙන්
සොයුරු මහිම පහස විදගත්
චමත්කාරයේ රාත්‍රී හෝරාව

කොළඹ විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයීය හෙද විද්‍යා පීඨයේ හෙද පීඨ ශිෂ්‍ය සංගමයේ මගපෙන්වීම යටතේ 2022/2023 සහෝදරත්වය විසින් සංවිධානය කරනු ලැබූ "Frosty Fest - 2025" නවමු අත්දැකීම් රැසක් සමඟින් අති සාර්ථකව 2025 ක් වූ දෙසැම්බර් මස 19 වන සිකුරාදා දින සවස 6. 30 සිට හෙද පීඨ විවෘත ශ්‍රවණාගාර පරිශ්‍රයේ දී පැවැත්වීය. එහිදී‍ කැමරා කාචය මත සනිටුහන් වූ සුවිශේෂී රූප රාමු පෙළක් මෙසේය.

Warmed by the magic of Christmas,
A night of marvels,
Illuminated by the glow of brotherhood...

"Frosty Fest - 2025", organized by the 2022/2023 batch, under the guidance of the Students’ Union of the Faculty of Nursing, University of Colombo, was held with great success on Friday, 19th of December 2025, from 6:30 pm onwards at the Open Auditorium of the Faculty premises.

குளிர்ந்த டிசம்பர் மாதத்தின் அழகை மேலும் அலங்கரித்த மந்திரமயமான இரவாக அது திகழ்ந்தது; அருமையான கிறிஸ்துமஸின் இனிய வெப்பத்தை அனுபவித்ததுடன், சகோதரத்துவத்தின் மகிமையை உணர்த்தி, மனங்களில் மகிழ்ச்சியும் உற்சாகமும் நிரம்பச் செய்த அழகிய தருணமாக அது அமைந்தது.

கொழும்பு பல்கலைக்கழக தாதியல் பீட மாணவர் சங்கத்தின் வழிகாட்டுதலின் கீழ், 2022/2023 ஆம் பிரிவு மாணவர்களால் ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்ட “Frosty Fest – 2025” என்ற புதுமையான அனுபவ நிகழ்ச்சி, 2025 ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் மாதம் 19 ஆம் திகதி, (வெள்ளிக்கிழமை) 6.30 மணி முதல் தாதியல் பீடத்தின் திறந்த கேட்போர் கூடத்தில் மிகச் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றது.
அந்த மறக்கமுடியாத தருணங்கள் படம்பிடிக்கப்பட்டு பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டு, அழகிய படத் தொகுப்பாக வெளிவந்துள்ளன.
