අනාරක්ෂිත ලිංගික සම්බන්ධතා, රුධිර පාරවිලයනය සහ වෙනත් පටක කොටස් බද්ධ කිරීම් හරහා මෙම වෛරස ආසාදනය වැළඳීමේ අවධානමක් පවතී.

මෙවර ලෝක ඒඩ්ස් දිනයේ තේමාව වන්නේ පරීක්ෂාකිරීම් වලට බඳුන් කිරීම තුළින් රෝගය හඳුනා ගැනීමත් , එච් අයි වී ආසාදිතයන් වෙනස් කොට සැළකීම වැළැක්වීමත් ඒ හරහා සමානත්මතාව සහ ප්‍රතිකාර ලබාගැනීමේ පහසුකම් වර්ධනය කිරීමත් යන කරුණු වේ.

එච්.අයි.වී බොහෝ විට අනාරක්ෂිත ලිංගික සබඳතා හරහා පැතිරීම සිදුවන අතර ආරක්ෂිත ලිංගික සබඳතා පිළිබඳ අවබෝධය ප්‍රවර්ධනය මෙම ⁣තත්වය පැතිරීම වැළැක්වීම සඳහා වැදගත් වේ. එච්.අයි.වී වැළැක්වීම සඳහා කොන්ඩම් භාවිතය ප්‍රවර්ධනය වැදගත් වන අතර නිවැරදිව භාවිතා කළ විට එය ඉතාමත් සාර්ථක ලෙස මෛ වෛරසය ආසාදනය වළක්වනු ලබයි.

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ප්‍රධාන රෝහල් වල ලිංගාශ්‍රිත රෝග සායන හරහා කිසිදු අයකිරීමකින් තොරව එච්.අයි.වී සඳහා පරීක්ෂණ සිදුකරවා ගත හැකි අතර රහස්‍යභාවය පිළිබඳ විශේෂ අවධානයක් එහිදී යොමු කරන අතර වෙනත් සායන මෙන් ස්ථාන කිහිපයක ලියාපදිංචි වීමකින් තොරව ඍජුව මෙම සායන වෙත ගොස් පෞද්ගලිකව පරීක්ෂණ සිදුකරගැනීමේ සහ ප්‍රතිකාර ලබාගැනීමේ හැකියාව පවතී.

වගකිවයුතු පුරවැසියක් ලෙස මෙම වෛරස ආසාදිතයන් වෙනස් කොට නොසැළකීමත් , රෝගය පැතිරීම වළක්වා ගැනීම සඳහා හැකි දායකත්වය ලබාදීමත් සියළු දෙනා සතු වගකීමකි.

HIV infections are rising rapidly among the youth…

🔴 Major reasons for the increase:
• Risky s*xual behaviours
• Casual/short-term relationships
• Lack of accurate knowledge
• Not using condoms consistently

🟢 How to stay protected:
• Use condoms correctly during every s*xual encounter
• Get an HIV test at least once a year
• Do not share needles, blades, or sharp instruments
• Learn accurate information and avoid stigma or fear

HIV is a preventable infection — protect yourself and protect others.

A successful community awareness program was conducted at Manawa, Kuliyapitiya East, led by Dr. Champika Gunawardena – Consultant Venereologist, STD Clinic, Kuliyapitiya.

This valuable session covered:

✔️ Safe behaviors & responsible choices
✔️ Importance of early testing and treatment

🌟 Awareness Program on STIs & Reducing Stigma 🌟

An informative awareness session on Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and stigma and discrimination was conducted by Dr. Champika Gunawardena, Consultant Venereologist, from the STD Clinic, Kuliyapitiya, at Hettiipola Base Hospital for the health staff.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported this important program. 🙏

We also visited the nearest MOH offices to further strengthen awareness and promote better understanding within the community.
