A successful workshop on interpretation of ‘ROTEM’ (rotational thromboelastometry) and its place in the assessment of haemostasis, patient blood management was held at M H Omar Liver Care Facility - CNCLD, Ragama on 26th January 2026.

This workshop was conducted by Dr Klaus Gorlinger - a well renowned anaesthetist/ haemostasiologist.

The workshop was attended by consultants / trainees / medical officers / medical students and nurses representing multiple specialities including anesthesia , surgery , transfusion medicine , intensive care and paediatrics.

Dr Chamila Liyanage - Consultant Anaesthetist , Lady Ridgeway Hospital For Children, Colombo, a valued member of the Paediatric liver transplant program of Colombo North Centre For Liver Diseases (CNCLD), for assuming her role as the president of college of Anaesthesiologists and Intensivists of Sri Lanka.

Dr Chamila Liyanage has provided her services to paediatric liver transplant program of Sri Lanka, since its inception in 2020 and continue to do so amidst all other commitments.
