Obstructed defecation syndrome is a condition that affects middle aged and older females which results in significant physical and mental distress. Due to weakening of the pelvic floor anatomy, specially after child birth, the evacuation mechanism of the re**um is disturbed. It is painful and distressing leading the affected to try various methods to assist the evacuation including perineal pressure and using fingers.
