Seeni Meanie Secretariat Seeni Meanie is a nationwide Diabetes Awareness and Prevention campaign conducted by the Diabetes Association of Sri Lanka.

The campaign is aptly named “Seeni Meanie” as “Seeni” is sugar in Sinhalese and Tamil where as “Meanie” denotes it is bad for your health. It is an innovative inter school advertising competition that evokes school children to champion diabetes awareness to their peers, famiies and general public. 125 schools have registered with the secretariat at the NDC where their creativity and talents will be mobilised to carry out a mock advertising campaign to inspire kids to lead a healthier lifestyle, the first step toward Diabetes Prevention. This program is endorsed by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health of Sri Lanka.
