When I was in India, I discovered an Ayurvedic technic called , or . Days were very busy already, but I began to create space for it in my daily routine as I could feel how it helped me find balance in everything I was experiencing and feeling.
In fact, one of the translations of the Sanskrit word for « » is « sneha », literally meaning .

Among the benefits brought by a self massage, you’ll find it reduces , and improves the body’s and sleep cycles. So I highly recommend you try it before going to bed, to and create yourself a nice little bubble of love!
🌿Choose your preferred pure oil
2 oils are usually recommended for Abhyanga:
- Warming Oil: This nourishing oil has powerful effects to hydrate dry .
- Cooling Oil: This cooling oil is recommended for people whose skin tends to be sensitive or even acne-prone.
💆♀️How to do it?
- Warm your oil in a container of hot water (oil should be comfortably warm and not hot)
- Sit or stand comfortably in a warm room
- Start by massaging the oil into your scalp using the palms of your hands.
- Gently massage your ear lobes, around and on the sides of your nostrils, your forehead, and temples.
- Massage your face with both hands using small circular motions starting from the chin up to the cheeks and forehead, and back down again.
- Massage the back of your neck, and when you get to your throat, massage in an upward movement.
- Massage the arms and legs in the direction of your heart, with long strokes on the muscles and circular movements on the joints.
- Use your palms to massage the chest and abdomen in a clockwise direction.
- Massage your hips and your buttocks before moving onto the tops and soles of your feet.
- Give your hands some loving attention, both on the palms and the backs of the hands.
Massage your body with love and patience for 10-15 minutes.
For the full benefit of the practice, keep the oil on your skin for as long as possible. Try to wait at least 10 minutes before bathing or showering.
