Yesterday, we officially certificated and welcomed into the EQ&JS Phoenix Community five young men who have gone through our six-month drug addiction rehabilitation program at the EQ&JS rehab facility.

The journey has been amazing, and we’re indeed proud of these young men who made the decision to get cleaned and stayed committed to the cause.

We would specifically like to thank our entire Liberia program team John Ballough Sneh, Addina Jabbie, Lisa Harris, Linda Pascaline Quiah, Patrick Landford, and G. Barbu for the hard work and dedication over the last nine months. We couldn’t have done it without you all and we celebrate you all as well.

We would also like to thank everyone who ever supported us in any way. We’re indeed grateful for all your support and contributions.

This marks the end of our first cohort, and program planning and recruitment of clients of our second cohort starts soon. Please like and keep following all our social media platforms for more updates on the second cohort.

We’re excited to let you all know that the certification event for clients from our first cohort is set for Sunday, July 17, 2022.

We have five young men who have gone through our six months drug addiction rehabilitation program, and they’re now ready to go out into the society and make positive impacts.

In addition to certificating our clients, we will also be raising funds to help transition these young men into the society by supporting their education. Also, funds raised will go towards the program preparations and implementation for our next cohort which will run for another six months.

We are kindly asking you to help support this worthy cause by purchasing one or more tickets to help us fundraise for the above mentioned purposes. For more details on how you can further donate, please contact 0770475379.

Five months ago, these guys were in the streets and ghettos of Monrovia and addicted to drugs. They were being called “zogos” and considered “dangerous” to the society. But with the help of our team and the EQ&JS Foundation’s rehabilitation program, they are now 5 months sober!

Today, they had their first training on Economic Empowerment. Currently, they’re doing a deep-dive of SHOP AT SNS technology platform’s inventory management system.

The future is indeed bright for our clients! Five months cleaned! What a journey. We want to thank everyone who donated, shared our stories and contributed to becoming a part of us in every way. We are so grateful😇

It’s another week and we’re throwing some light on the last client of our first cohort;

Jacob Harmon…
He’s 24 years old and had been addicted to drugs for over 3 years. Jacob was recruited by one of our staff in early February this year as one of the clients of our first cohort.

Jacob is a high school graduate and had been living with his family. He started taking drugs over 3 years ago, which led him to develop bad habits including stealing. Despite all efforts from his family to help him stop taking drugs and desist from all criminal activities, he had made no improvements.

Jacob is loved by his family so dearly and they want nothing more than to see him get cleaned and become a better person. We are also glad to know that Jacob has made the decision to get cleaned and make his family proud. He has remained dedicated to the cause since he started the program and has continued to exhibit good behavior at the facility.

We are looking forward to continue working with him in unleashing his potentials and developing his talents to have him prepared for making impact in the society once he completes the program and graduates as part of our first cohort.

Happy new week!
We would like to throw some light on one of our clients today;

Johnson Ballah…
He’s 31 years old and had been addicted to drugs for over 12 years. Johnson was recruited form the VOA cemetery by one of our staff in early February this year as one of our clients forming part of the first cohort of our rehabilitation program.

Johnson started taking drugs with friends in Brewerville City and became addicted. He then left home and had lived in the VOA cemetery since then. He dropped out of high school in the 11th grade due to the addiction.

Johnson had been taken to a rehabilitation center by his family but he only stayed there for 21 days and was clean for that period. He however began taking drugs again after he got out and had not been able to get cleaned since then.

He has now made the decision to get cleaned for good and we are grateful to our staff, who also happens to be a friend of Johnson’s for bringing him into into our program and allowing him go through thorough rehabilitation this time around. Johnson has been a progressive client since joining our program and we are looking forward to continue working with him to ensure he becomes completely rehabilitated and further discover and develop his talents and abilities.

We have loved working with Johnson and we are hopeful of seeing him complete the program and graduate with the rest of the clients as our first cohort and have him reunited and reintergrated into society.

It’s the start of another week working with our clients and today’s highlight will be on another client;

Glenn Clarke…
He’s 35 years old and has been addicted to drugs for about 12 years. Glenn was recruited from the King Gray cemetery by our team in early January this year as one of our clients forming part of the first cohort of our rehabilitation program.

Glenn started smoking w**d with friends and matured to taking drugs to which he became addicted. He is a high school graduate but has been rejected by his family and has lived in several ghettos due to his addiction. He has been a victim of physical violence and discrimination by society and people in authority.

Glenn wishes to be reunited with his family as a better person and as such made the decision to willingly get cleaned and go through rehabilitation. He has been one of the hardworking and humble clients at our facility and has exhibited good leadership skills over the time.

We are glad to have Glenn as one of our clients and we are hopeful of having him complete the program and become one of the awesome graduates of our first cohort. He does possess great driving skills and as part of our program, we look forward to building upon his skills and enabling him make a decent living from his skills upon completion of our program.

The road to recovery for our clients continues, and today’s highlight will be on another client of ours;

Maxwell Sellue…
He is 30 years old and had been addicted to drugs for about 13 years. Maxwell was recruited from the King Gray cemetery by our team in early January this year as one of our clients forming part of the first cohort of our rehabilitation program.

Maxwell started smoking w**d in high school with friends and later moved on to taking drugs to which he became addicted. He loves music and was also a dancer back in high school. However, he dropped out of high school in the 12th grade and left home due to the addiction and had been living in various ghettos since then.

Maxwell is the only male child for his parents and has several sisters. Through out his addiction, he had had 4 children with his partner. He had remained a dedicated partner and father to his spouse and children despite his addiction.

Maxwell has willingly made the decision to get cleaned and we are glad to have him as one of our clients at our facility. He has proven to be a family oriented person and we are excited that he has made this decision to thrive through rehabilitation and become a better person for the sake of his family. We however look forward to seeing Maxwell complete the program and become one of the outstanding graduates of our first cohort and have him reintegrated into the society.

It has been a wonderful and challenging three months working with the clients of our first cohort; and today, we would like to throw the light on, as well as share the story of one of our clients…

Obinna Daniel…
He is 25 years old and had been addicted to drugs for about 4 years. Obinna was recruited from the Thinker’s Village cemetery by our team in early January this year as one of our clients forming part of the first cohort of our rehabilitation program.

Obinna loves music and was a very good dancer back in high school. He was introduced to drugs intake by friends in high school and got addicted to it since then. He then continued taking drugs to step up his dance talent and used it as a means of getting rid of his shyness. Unfortunately, Obinna dropped out of high school in the 10th grade due to drug addiction and had been living in the ghettos since then.

Obinna has his mother who very much hated to see him addicted to drugs and lead the kind of life he had been living. We are glad that he has willingly made the decision to get cleaned and have him go through our rehabilitation program at our facility. He has mentioned so many times how much he loves his mother and he has chosen to make her happy and become a better person because of her; in order to be able to give her the life she deserves.

We are hopeful of seeing Obinna complete the first cohort of our program and have him graduate with the rest of our clients and be reintegrated into the society for a better future.
