Celebrating World Menstrual Hygiene Day! 🩸💪

In honor of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Chedemar's Health Corner hosted a one day event in the Slipway Community, Monrovia.

As part of the celebration, two important topics were discussed by members of our team: The biology of menstruation and EmpoweringPeriodDignityforAll. The discussions aimed to educate and empower participants on how to manage their menstrual health safely and with pride.

After the session, we distributed sanitary packages to all participants. Each package included sanitary pads, bath soap, and a shaving stick.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our $1 Campaign your generosity helped make this event a success and brought smiles to many young girls.

Together, we are breaking the stigma, promoting dignity, and building a healthier future one community at a time.

🌍 World Environment Day 2025 🇱🇷🌿

Today, we join the world in celebrating World Environment Day, reminding us that a healthy environment means a healthier Liberia.

In Liberia, polluted water and poor sanitation contribute to diseases like cholera, typhoid, and malaria.
Open burning and deforestation harm our air quality and increase respiratory illnesses.
Stagnant water and poor waste disposal fuel the spread of malaria and other infections.
Climate change threatens our farmlands, food supply, and overall health.

We must take action to keep our communities clean, protect our forests, and properly manage waste. The health of our people depends on the health of our land.

Let’s care for Liberia by caring for our environment.

Today is World Hypertension Day, May 17th!

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is called the "silent killer" because it often has no symptoms until serious damage is done. In Liberia and around the world, millions are living with high blood pressure without knowing it.

Let’s break the silence. Let’s raise awareness.

What is Hypertension?
Hypertension occurs when the force of blood against your artery walls is consistently too high usually 140/90 mmHg or above.

Normal blood pressure ranges from 90/60 to 120/80 mmHg.

Why It Matters:

Increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, and even death

Can lead to sudden collapse or permanent disability if not detected early and managed properly

Warning Signs to Watch For (though it’s often silent):
Severe headaches
Chest pain
Blurred vision
Irregular heartbeat
Fatigue or confusion

Prevention & Control Tips:
Check your blood pressure regularly
Reduce salt intake
Exercise consistently
Avoid smoking and limit alcohol
Manage stress effectively
Take prescribed medication as directed

Let’s protect our hearts and our communities. Get checked. Stay healthy. Share this message.
Together, we can fight hypertension and save lives.
