This October, we join the global community to raise awareness about breast cancer.

This disease affects millions of people worldwide, and early detection is key to improving survival rates.

Please remember to perform monthly self-exams, schedule regular mammograms, and encourage your loved ones to do the same.

Together, we can fight breast cancer!

Brief description of self breast examination

Start by looking at your breasts in the mirror with your arms at your sides.

Look for any changes in size, shape, or color.

Next, raise your arms and look for the same changes.

Then, feel your breasts while lying down, using the pads of your fingers to move in a circular pattern.

Finally, feel your breasts while standing or sitting, using the same circular pattern.

Remember to check both breasts, and be sure to check your armpit area as well.

We showed up today July 25, 2022 at the FOBC Church in fulfillment of an invitation we accepted some weeks ago, to discuss health related issues.

Our Editor, Mr. Jeff Kwewu Barlea did the presentation.
He discussed tips on how to come in harmony with natural laws and how to uphold a decent living standard to help prolonged lives.

Team PHAI, on July 17, 2022 graced the “Liberia National Health Summit-2022” honoring the invitation of host organization, Public Health Foundation Of Liberia.

The summit aimed to address health challenges and issues affecting the health system of Liberia . It gathers more than 100 young participants, youth organizations, government officials and NGOs to discuss and find solutions to major health challenges in Liberia. And to promote Healthprenual towards sustainable health transformation that will have a deliverable impact on the Liberian Health sector.

It was great sharing our stories and activities at Team PHAI with great and promising leaders of our country at this SUMMIT. We look forward to future cooperations which are prospects of a health resilient- Liberia.

FOUNDING MEMBERS PROFILE

Meet Peace Kolleh, a determined and influential young Liberian from B**g County.

He currently pursues his Bachelor of Science Degree in Public Health at the African Methodist Episcopal University in Monrovia, Liberia.
Besides, he holds Certificates in the following areas:
1. Mental Hygiene Education
2. Leadership Comprehension Skills
3. Solar Installation & Maintenance
4. Surveillance Camera(CCTV) Installation and
5. Digital Satellite Installation.

He is currently an ICT Officer at the Volunteers for sustainable development in Africa(VOSIEDA) and Manager of the The Reality of Life (ROL) Facebook Platform that aims at enlightening people about the importance of Life and to manipulate the mind of individuals with diverse mind set about life.

He writes,
"I anticipate a mentally free and a healthy environment for everyone with mental disabilities.

We are all created equal, as such, no one should be discriminated because of their physical, mental, or other health implications. How you treat others is very important in every aspect of life. Because every good you do, has a way of coming back to you".

Meet Mary Gargo Toe, the CEO of Young Enlighteners Scrap. She is an innovative and goal-driven Liberian from Maryland County.

She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the Adventist University of West Africa and a certificate in Tailoring and Advanced Cake Making.

She founded Young Enlightener Scrap in 2016 in order to provide Psychosocial support, sexual and reproductive health education, capacities building and to ensure health and sanitation.

She is a promoter of sustainable peace in her community and has a basic skill in Catering with an evergreen passion for volunteerism and education.

She writes,
" I'm foreseeing a New Liberia with with many skilled individuals! A Liberia that is safe from diseases that could be prevented; a Liberia that people from all round the globe would to come to seek medical treatment".

Meet Blesseth Alfreda Barclay, a young Liberian born in Montserrado County.

She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the Adventist University of West Africa with Certificates in the following disciplines:
1. Environmental Monitoring and Advocacy
2. R**e Prevention and Education Skills
3. Global Citizenship Education and
4. Disaster, crisis, and Interventions

She works as a Nurse at Prestige Medical Clinic and as a Volunteer/ Financial Secretary at SMART Project International (SPI).

She writes,
"I want to see a healthy and sanitized society (Liberia) which can only be achieved by the collaborative efforts of every single person."

FOUNDING MEMBERS PROFILE

Meet Fassu Zayzay Massaquoi, a young innovative, leadership oriented Liberian from Sanoyea, B**g County.

He holds a BSc Degree in Public Health from the Adventist University of West Africa where he served as General Secretary and then President of the Students Governing Council of AUWA 2019 -2020 and 2021-2022 respectively. He also served as President of the Public Health Students Association of the University 2020-2021 with vast public service experiences which he attained from working as volunteer with several NGOs since childhood including; Save the Children, Under The Tree (UTT CLUB), Street Child of Liberia, etc...

He is currently involved with voluntary health promotional and humanitarian activities in some parts of Liberia especially rural environments which he accomplish through partnership with local youth organizations.

He is the Founder of Public Health Ambassadors Initiative which aims at raising awareness on health concerns of the community to prevent public health threats. He also runs a weekly Health Show titled, 'HEALTH MATTERS' on EYE TV-Liberia, an online platform that focuses on exposing youth talents and enabling them make a positive impact to the society through their knowledge and skills.

He writes,
"My goal is to help ensure that we built a conducive public health environment that will improve the living standard of Liberians and our Nation, Liberia. I believe that the achievement of this goal will help catapult our country into the highest orbit of sustainable development and health securities."
