Community Gardens: Feeding Families, Strengthening Faith
📖 Scripture: “The Lord will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest.” — Psalm 85:12
🩺 Health Insight:
Household and community gardens improve food security and increase access to vegetables and fruits. Studies show that community gardening not only reduces malnutrition but also strengthens resilience against rising food costs (FAO, 2021). In Leribe, many households already farm maize and beans — but small vegetable gardens (moroho, carrots, spinach, pumpkin) add vital nutrients.
✨ Encouragement:
God blesses the work of our hands. Planting seeds is both a spiritual and practical act of faith. As families and communities, we can reclaim health by returning to the soil He gave us.
📝 Application (Leribe context):
Encourage each family to grow at least one type of vegetable in their yard. Share seeds with neighbors, or join with local churches to start a communal garden. One small plot can feed a family for months.
