Position Title: Financial Accountant
Reports to: Finance Manager
Job Overview
Naledi Funeral Planners is seeking a meticulous and highly analytical Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy of our financial reporting, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the strategic decision-making of the organisation.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Financial Reporting: Develop comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including consolidated reports.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to IFRSs and tax compliance
• Cash Flow Management: Project revenues and expenses to manage liquidity; oversee bank account movements and control company expenditures.
• Audit & Internal Control: Reconcile balance sheets and prepare documentation for external auditors. Examine records to ensure total conformance to internal financial controls.
• Asset & Inventory Management: Monitor the lifecycle of company assets (acquisition to disposal), coordinate physical tagging, and lead periodic stock counts for funeral-related inventory.
Minimum Requirements
• BCom Accounting, CIMA, or General Accounting degree.
• Affiliation with a recognized accounting body.
• Chartered Accountant (CA) status is a distinct advantage.
• At least three years of experience in financial management.
• High proficiency in accounting systems, specifically Sage Intacct.
• In-depth knowledge of current accounting standards.
Soft Skills:
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and confidentiality.
• Proven ability to meet tight timelines through effective time management.
