In line with strengthening the healthcare capacity of Lesotho, the ministry of health, through Lesotho-Boston Health Alliance, is advancing the implementation of Primary Care Assessment (PCAT) across the country. Building on this mandate, LeBoHA, convened a stakeholders’ meeting to engage partners on the study’s objectives, structure, and areas of enhancement.
The session was conducted in Sesotho to promote inclusivity, and ensure clarity, and support meaningful participation from all stakeholders. The engagement also led to the establishment of the PCAT advisory committee, dedicated to reinforcing a shared commitment to coordinate action, accountability, and effective implementation of this studies objectives.

Lesotho-Boston Health Alliance brought energy and insight to the Career Expo at Sacred Heart HS as we introduced aspiring health professionals to our Family Medicine Specialty Training Program (FMSTP). Our Quality Assurance Officer also sparked important conversations around the health fraternity in Lesotho and the vital role of accreditation in strengthening higher education through bodies such as the Council on Higher Education (CHE).

The future of medicine is being built today — and it starts with informed choices, quality training, and bold ambition.

At Lesotho-Boston Health Alliance , continuous improvement is a core value.
2nd annual staff meeting provided an opportunity for each department to present its performance, celebrating successes while also acknowledging the challenges faced along the way. Lesotho-Boston Health Alliance is pleased to welcome the 15th cohort of medical and dental interns.
The orientation program serves as an important introduction to the structure of the internship, guiding interns through the program’s policies, procedures, and assessment tools. This foundation ensures that each intern begins their journey well-informed, supported, and aligned with the expectations of the training program.
We look forward to a productive and enriching internship period.

“Hypertension is highly prevalent among people living with HIV, and associated with older age and higher BMI. The introduction of routine HTN prevention, diagnostic and treatment measures has the potential to reduce morbi-mortality, and improve the quality of the life of PLHIV. There is a need for patient orientated medical care rather than siloed, disease-orientated care to address the complexities of PLHIV”, follow the link for the entire article https://phcfm.org/index.php/phcfm/article/view/4813

“ Nurses who deliver SBH services in public clinics in Mokhotlong district reported important knowledge gaps in ECPs, positive attitudes towards ECPs and infrequent prescribing of ECPs. Comprehensive free service and in-service screening programs on EC, detailed guidelines and improved packaging of EC could improve knowledge and awareness on ECPs and motivate the HCP to prescribe ECP.”

Meet Dr. Mosa Tlahali, 2025 Lesotho-Boston Health Alliance FMSTP graduate,District Health Manager Mokhotlong and 2025 Leadership award winner.
