Patience does not mean to passively endure. It means to be farsighted enough to trust the end result of a process.

What does patience mean?
It means to look at the thorn and see the rose, to look at the night and see the dawn. Impatience means to be so short-sighted as to not be able to see the outcome. The lovers of God never run out of patience, for they know that time is needed for the crescent moon to become full. ♥️

Our hearts are full.

CHAMPIONING HOPE: MY JOURNEY AS A CHILDHOOD CANCER ACTIVIST

INTRODUCTION

In the quiet corridors of hospitals, where the air is thick with uncertainty, I found my purpose. My name is Mmamaseru Maqhobela , and I am not just an activist; I am a beacon of hope for children battling cancer. Their courage, resilience, and unwavering spirit have ignited a fire within me—a fire that fuels my dreams and propels me forward.

THE CALL TO ACTION

WHY! - I often ask myself. Why do I wake up every morning, fueled by an unyielding determination to make a difference? The answer lies in the eyes of those little warriors—the children who fight battles far beyond their years. They are my inspiration, my driving force. Their laughter, their tears, their dreams—they are etched into my heart.

As a childhood cancer activist, my mission is clear: to raise awareness, to advocate for early detection, and to provide unwavering support to these young fighters and their families. But I cannot do it alone. I need your help, your support, and your unwavering commitment.

THE FOUNDATION: Gold Anchor Pediatric Cancer Foundation

Founded with love and purpose, the Gold Anchor Pediatric Cancer Foundation stands as a lighthouse in the storm. We believe that every child deserves a fighting chance—a chance to laugh, to play, and to dream. Our foundation is not just about medical treatments; it's about healing hearts, nurturing souls, and creating a community of warriors.

MY ROLE

As the founder and director, my role extends beyond paperwork and meetings. I am the voice of those who cannot speak, the advocate for those who face unimaginable odds. I wear many hats—a listener, a counselor, a fundraiser, and sometimes, simply a friend. But above all, I am a believer—a believer in the power of compassion, in the resilience of the human spirit.

DREAMS THAT IGNITE THE NIGHT SKY

1. EARLY DETECTION: Imagine a world where childhood cancer is detected early, where symptoms are not dismissed as mere childhood ailments. I dream of awareness campaigns that reach every corner of Lesotho—a symphony of knowledge that echoes through schools, homes, and playgrounds.

2. HOLISTIC CARE: Beyond chemotherapy and surgeries, I envision holistic care. Art therapy, music, and play—these are not luxuries; they are lifelines. Let us create spaces where children can heal not only their bodies but also their souls.

3. SUPPORT NETWORKS: No family should face cancer alone. Let us weave a safety net—a network of support that catches families when they stumble. Volunteers, counselors, and fellow survivors—we need you. Join us in this sacred mission.

INVITATIONS TO EVENTS

I stand before you, arms open wide. Invite me to your schools, your sports arenas, your community gatherings. Let us talk about cancer—the elephant in the room. Let us dispel myths, share stories, and ignite conversations. Together, we can create ripples of change that reach far beyond our borders.

A PLEA FOR FUNDING

Our foundation thrives on love, but love alone cannot pay for medications, hospital bills, and research. I humbly request your support. Every Loti counts—a drop in the ocean that can create waves of transformation. Let us build bridges of hope together.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS

Are you a dreamer, a believer, a fighter? Join our ranks. Whether you have an hour or a lifetime to spare, your presence matters. Volunteer at our events, lend your skills, and be part of something greater than yourself.

CONCLUSION

In the quiet corridors of hospitals, where hope flickers like a candle, I stand. My dreams are not mere wishes; they are blueprints for a better tomorrow. Childhood cancer is not just a battle; it's a canvas waiting for strokes of compassion, resilience, and love. Will you pick up the brush?

Together, let us paint a masterpiece—one that shines brighter than the stars, one that whispers hope to every child who fights in the darkness.

Kindly share and give this post a thumbs-up! Your support matters, and who knows—your timeline might just connect us with the perfect helper. Let's spread the word together!

🌟 CHILDHOOD CANCER: A BRAVE BATTLE🌟

Dear friends,

Let's talk about something close to our hearts—the brave little warriors who face a formidable opponent: CHILDHOOD CANCER. 🎗️

What Is Childhood Cancer?

Simply put, childhood cancer refers to cancer that affects children and adolescents. These young fighters—our superheroes—battle cancer just like adults do, but their strength and resilience shine even brighter.

Types of Childhood Cancer:

1. Leukemia: This affects the blood and bone marrow. It's like a storm brewing within, but our heroes fight back with courage.

2. Brain Tumors: Imagine a tiny universe inside their heads. Sometimes, it gets tangled, and they need our love and support to unravel it.

3. Neuroblastoma: A tricky foe that hides in the nervous system. Our warriors stand tall, facing it head-on.

4. Wilms Tumor: It sneaks into the kidneys, but our little champions refuse to surrender.

5. Lymphoma: Like a puzzle, it affects the immune system. But these kids? They're the missing pieces that complete the picture.

6. Retinoblastoma: A rare eye cancer that begins in the retina, the light-sensitive lining inside the eye. Most commonly affects young children, often under the age of 5.
Symptoms may include a white color in the pupil when light is shone in the eye (leukocoria) and a change in eye color or a cross-eyed appearance.

7. Osteosarcoma: The most common type of bone cancer in children, usually occurring in teenagers and young adults. Usually starts in the long bones of the legs or arms, and
Symptoms can include bone pain, swelling, or fractures.
Risk factors may include genetic conditions like hereditary retinoblastoma and Li-Fraumeni syndrome.

Signs and Symptoms:

- Unexplained weight loss
- Persistent fever
- Fatigue
- Swollen glands
- Bruising easily
