Position: Junior Pharmacist
Location: Maseru
Contract Type: Renewable 5-Year Contract
Reporting To: Senior Pharmacist
Vitality Health Lesotho invites suitably qualified and motivated candidates to apply for the position of Junior Pharmacist based in Maseru.
Position Summary
The Junior Pharmacist will be responsible for providing professional pharmaceutical services in compliance with regulatory standards, company policies, and operational procedures. The successful candidate will support daily pharmacy operations, ensure safe and accurate dispensing, and contribute to high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
• Dispensing and compounding of medicines in accordance with legal and professional standards
• Ensuring accuracy in prescription processing and patient counselling
• Supporting stock control, storage, and inventory processes
• Processing medical aid and insurance claims in line with company systems
• Operating the ProPharm system for dispensing and stock management
• Supporting extended operating hours, including night shifts where required
• Maintaining compliance with Pharmacy Council and Ministry of Health regulations
• Participating in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) degree
• Registered with the Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council (LMDPC)
• For candidates who graduated more than two (2) years ago, a valid LMDPC practicing certificate is mandatory
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical legislation and ethical practice
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness and ability to work night shifts when required
• Ability to start immediately
Added Advantage
• Prior experience working in a retail or institutional pharmacy
• Knowledge of the ProPharm system
