A youth development club targeted at the youth of Ha Tsolo and surrounding areas. The club is aimed at exploring all issues concerning young people that impair their development, both physical and psychological. The goal is to bring young people together in a positive environment that will give them a platform to develop and realise their potential. The club is established as a form of response to high and rising challenges faced by young people which not only contribute to high crime rates in Ha Tsolo and surrounding areas but also affects their chances for a better future. Problems such as alcohol and drug abuse, domestic physical and emotional abuse, early and unprotected sexual debut, gangsterism and sex trade are alarmingly high amongst the youth in these areas. These problems are mostly triggered by poverty, idleness, lack of motivation, exposure to alcohol and drugs, lack of parental care, supervision and support, low self-esteem and lack of self-worth among young people. Most of these problems are deeply thrusted and requires more than a youth club to’ fix, but equipping young people with better methods to face their challenges and creating something positive out of their circumstances can reduce the casualties of these misfortunes.
