The traditional boots and bar type of foot abduction brace first described in 1934
by the Sir Denis Browne of Great Ormond Street Hospital in London is recognised
internationally as the standard of care orthosis for prevention of clubfoot relapse.
Whilst the Denis Browne brace concept has not changed significantly over
the years, C-Pro Direct’s state-of-the-art ADM AFO and External Rotation Bar
represents a significant advancement whilst staying faithful to the requirements
set out by Dr Ponseti.

(happy)
Благодарю Вас. Т к Вы всегда относитесь по человечески, и стараетесь понять проблемы каждого.

Dorsiflexion Ramp for Children to age 10 years

It is not easy to persuade toddlers and children to actively engage in physiotherapy to stretch their Achilles tendons and calf muscles. But a few minutes good quality stretching each day can really help “toe walkers” to improve their gait, growing clubfoot children to avoid relapses and many other conditions linked to limited dorsiflexion.

This child friendly ramp can readily be incorporated into routine activities, such as daily teeth cleaning, playing computer games or working at a desk.

The Dorsi Ramp is recommended for children suffering from conditions such as idiopathic toe walking, cerebral palsy and clubfoot.

Key features of the Dorsi Ramp:

Strong, stable safe dorsiflexion ramp designed specifically for children
Flip over design and insert means that slope angles of 10, 15 and 20 degrees are achieved with no moving parts
Moulding encourages correct foot placement
Compound slope maintains correct dorsiflexion angle even if child abducts
For toddlers to children up to age 10 years
In a recent survey, all daily users of the Dorsi Ramp believe it to be effective

Good afternoon,

Yesterday I talked to the mother on the phone, she wanted a consultation on the size selection and the ADM resistance. They bought a year ago ADM with an old (2016m) spring configuration.
I looked at the photo and it became clear that this ADM is not quite suitable for the baby.
Several points are taken into account for correct selection of the ADM resistance. Foot length, back flexion angles, foot release angle, etc.
Write to me in Viber, WhatsApp +37065748911, e-mail or social network. I'll try to advise everyone.

ADM size gridhttp://www.kosolapost-ponseti.ru/wp-content/uploads/ADM-Размерная-сетка.pdf

For consultations, measure and indicate the actual size of your foot...

The standard spring options are suitable for most patients with well adjusted feet. Weaker spring options may be needed for hyper-mobile legs, patients with low muscle tone and body weight. They may be suitable for patients whose legs are more stable and have a smaller than ideal range of movement. Stronger springs may also be suitable for patients with higher body weights.

Warnings: Stronger spring options should be used with care. ADM provides long pull-out periods. Patients should feel comfortable using strong ADM, but may feel uncomfortable after 2-3 hours of continuous use.

Please contact us if you do not know how to choose ADM for your baby.

Please watch this wonderful educational piece put together by Ponseti International on the effects of clubfoot around the world and how the Ponseti Method for clubfoot correction, developed at the University of Iowa, is helping to eradicate clubfoot worldwide. Big thank you to former clubfoot child and MLB pitcher Jim Mecir for narrating the video.

Ponseti Method

"Parents of infants born with clubfeet may be reassured that their baby, if otherwise normal, when treated by expert hands will have normal looking feet with normal function for all practical purposes. The well treated clubfoot is no handicap and is fully compatible with normal, active life." Ignacio Ponseti, M.D.
The majority of clubfeet can be corrected in infancy in about six to eight weeks with the proper gentle manipulations and plaster casts. The treatment is based on a sound understanding of the functional anatomy of the foot and of the biological response of muscles, ligaments and bone to corrective position changes gradually obtained by manipulation and casting.
Less than 5% of infants born with clubfeet may have very severe, short, plump feet with stiff ligaments, unyielding to stretching with a deep transverse skin fold across the sole of the foot and another crease above the heel. These babies require special treatment and may need surgical correction. The results are better if bone and joint surgery can be avoided altogether. Surgery in the clubfoot is invariably followed by scarring, stiffness and muscle weakness which becomes more severe and disabling after adolescence.
The treatment works best when administered within the first few months of life in order to take advantage of the favorable elasticity of the tissues forming the ligaments joint capsules and tendons. With our treatment these structures are stretched with weekly, gentle manipulations. A plaster cast is applied after each weekly session to retain the degree of correction obtained and to soften the ligaments. Thereby, the displaced bones are gradually brought into the correct alignment.

General Recommendations

Parent/caregiver involvement and counseling

Parents play a key role in the management of clubfoot deformity and should be informed, advised, and encouraged to:
o Understand the type of their child’s clubfoot and that it is treatable;
o Understand all aspects of the upcoming treatment including the reasons for relapses;
o Communicate regularly and openly with clinical staff throughout all phases of treatment;
o Openly discuss social, cultural, and financial constraints to corrective casting treatment;
o Comply strictly with the bracing protocol and follow-up appointments;
o Openly discuss social, cultural, and financial issues regarding brace use;
o Seek support from family, community, health workers, and others, as needed.
