The first 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐈 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 brought together 60 nursing leaders and operating room professionals from across Lithuania, as part of a new initiative developed by AmberCell.
It was valuable to see nursing leaders openly sharing their practical experience and how challenges are approached in their daily work.
Prof. dr. Natalja Istomina also highlighted an important topic: why process standardization is essential, yet still not fully implemented in many healthcare settings.
This naturally led to a broader reflection on how decisions are made and what slows them down in practice. Many processes still lack consistency across teams and hospitals. Decisions often do not fail because they are wrong, but because they get stuck:
-in handovers,
-in responsibilities,
-in unclear ownership.
This is where the role of a nursing leader becomes very visible. Not only managing teams, but identifying where processes slow down and helping move them forward.
Another important aspect that came up was how complex the path to implementing innovation really is. Introducing change is rarely about a single idea. It requires data, alignment and persistence. Without a solid data foundation, decisions simply do not move forward.
In this context, the role of MedTech becomes increasingly important. Not only to introduce new solutions, but to help structure processes and make them work in everyday practice. As noted by Evaldas Grazys, this also means being able to clearly demonstrate how these solutions actually influence outcomes.
We thank everyone who openly shared their experience and all participants who made this discussion meaningful.
