Using acid-based body products during summer offers significant advantages.

🧴Sunscreens, while crucial for protection against UV radiation, can clog pores and lead to comedones.

🧪Acid-based formulations, such as those containing AHAs and BHAs (which we have in our Acne Body Duo), facilitate exfoliation, enhance cellular turnover, and maintain pore clarity. This prevents the accumulation of sebum and debris, lowering the risk of acne and maintaining skin’s smooth texture.

Integrate Acne Body Duo into your routine to ensure clear, healthy skin all summer long 🌞

What’s our powerful body care duo? It consists of two star-products: the shower gel and the body renewal cream that work together to give you the smoothest, softest and pimple-free skin!

💙Shower Power
Not your regular shower gel, but rather an in-shower treatment. Packed with azelaic and salicylic acid, Shower Power deeply cleanses the skin while relieving inflammation and exfoliating dead skin cells. Bye, bacne👋
This gel also contains urea, making it a go-to treatment for those with keratosis pillaris. Lifehack: you can actually use Shower Power as a body mask, leaving it on your skin for 2-3 minutes before rinsing.

💙Acid Cloud
Fast-absorbing, heavenly textured body cream with a cocktail of exfoliating agents that reveals smooth, replenished skin. A slightly lower concentration of salicylic acid and gentle enzyme complex makes it perfect for every skin type: think your best idea of an everyday hydrating body lotion, but enhanced with AHA+BHA to get your skin really glowing✨

⚡️ The bacteria that cause acne are actually good for the skin!

☝🏻This is what we would call our today’s post if we were clickbait lovers. Sure enough, that statement would be too simplified. When we talk about C. acnes bacteria, we are talking about many different strains. Some of them actually play an important role in the acne formation. But latest research shows that killing all C.acnes species on the skin with antibiotics is a bad idea.

And here is why:

-C.acne produces the antimicrobial peptide cotimucin, which helps the skin to defend itself against pathogens;
-C. acnes stimulate autophagy - an important process of cell regeneration crucial to cancer prevention;
-Some strains of C. acnes provide antioxidant protection to the skin;
-C.acnes are involved in the process of seboregulation;

Because of such an array of skin-friendly properties, scientists are now actively looking for ways to use C. acnes bacteria (and other elements of the microbiome) in skincare and prescripton meds. Of course, this approach has one serious limitation: according to the law, cosmetics should not contain any living organisms (this is simply unsafe). Therefore in most formulations bacterial lysates are used. Lysates are little «pieces» of probiotics that do not contain any living cells. Two most used ones in skincare products are lactococcus and lactobacilli lysates.
.. By the way, here at Openface we also actively study probiotic components and will be releasing some great stuff pretty soon🤫

We are all unique, aren’t we? The same applies to our skin. That’s why we created Openface – a personalized skin analysis service. After you take the quiz and receive your detailed skin report, you may chose to order a custom skincare formula tailored to your skin needs at the moment.

🤍This is how it works:

– We determine the type and condition of your skin
You take a test on the openface.io website (link in the profile) and attach a selfie. The AI algorithm analyzes your replies, and a team of dermatologists double-checks the analysis;

– You receive a detailed report
After the analysis of your quiz replies and attached photographs is completed, we send you detailed info about the type and condition of your skin along with daily skincare recommendations (we provide links to clinical research for all of them);

– Creating a formula
Our team of chemists and technologists determine the active ingredients your skin needs and their concentration;

– You get your package
In 10 days you will receive a personalized serum that is best suited for your current skin condition. As your skin changes, we can adjust or update the formula – our specialists are always in touch.
