"As the leaves change 🍂, so should our self-care! 🧡 Ayurveda offers simple yet powerful ways to thrive during the autumn season (Vata season) with its drying qualities. Here are some key practices to stay grounded and balanced:
Stay Moist! 💦
Abhyanga (self-massage with warm oil) 💆♀️
Cook with sesame, almond, or ghee
Nasya oil (nasal application) 👃
Nourish Yourself: Choose warm, moist, unctuous foods. 🍲
An ideal
breakfast with oatmeal or cream of rice, or warm stewed apples prepared with cinnamon, nutmeg,
cardamom or clove. For lunch, steamed vegetables with rice and ghee (clarified butter) is ideal.Now is the season for root vegetables and winter squash. Try
carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, acorn, butternut squash. Grains that are grounding include
basmati rice, brown rice, quinoa.
Establish Routine: Regular sleep 😴 and meal times calm the mind. 🙏
Stay Warm: Avoid becoming chilled. 🧣
Grounding Movement: Practice slow, grounding yoga poses. 🧘♀️
